| ~ Jacques in his monstrous werecat form, as he stops Scooby and Shaggy in their path. |
Jacques is a major antagonist in Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, the first installment of the Scooby-Doo direct-to-video film series.
He is a ferryman who works for Simone Lenoir and Lena Dupree by taking their guests to Moonscar Island. However, just like his employers, Jacques is secretly a werecat who wants to achieve immortality by draining the life force of any of Moonscar Island's visitors.
He was voiced by Jim Cummings, who also voiced Dr. Robotnik in Sonic SatAM, Gillecomgain in Gargoyles, Steele in Balto, Rasputin's singing voice in Anastasia, Scar's singing voice in The Lion King, Fusilli in Courage the Cowardly Dog and Budzo in Zambezia.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He purposely asked to have the werecat curse placed on him so that he could become immortal, knowing he'd have to kill people to stay that way.
- He ferried many innocent people, mostly tourists, to Moonscar Island to kill them along with Simone Lenoir and Lena Dupree so they could steal their life force and remain immortal, transforming them into zombies.
- He showed no love for Simone Lenoir and Lena Dupree beyond seeing them as useful in his plans to gain eternal life. While he does appear friendly with them at first before his monstrous form is revealed, he could just be playing an act. Lena does appear concerned for him later in the film when he is attacked by his victims, but it is unclear if he returned the care. It's also possible Lena merely saw him as useful.
- Unlike Simone and Lena, he lacks any tragic excuse and just asked to be cursed so he could gain eternal life, even if it meant ferrying innocent people to their deaths, which he showed sadistic delight in since he taunted Scooby and Shaggy as he tried to kill them.
- Despite the comedic nature of Scooby-Doo, his actions are overall not played for laughs, and he is treated very seriously.
- Despite not having a kill count as high as Simone Lenoir and Lena Dupree, he still stands out due to being actually being evil at heart, being much more ruthless and dangerous than them, and not caring about anyone but himself.
