Natla, better known by her modern identity Jacqueline Natla, is the main antagonist of the Tomb Raider franchise.
She is the former ruler of Atlantis and Lara Croft's archenemy.
She was voiced by Grey DeLisle, who also voiced the High Priestess in Samurai Jack and Xtabay in Maya and the Three.
History[]
Jacqueline was part of the ruling council of the ancient technologically advanced continent of Atlantis, but she then attempted to become the ruler and improve the Atlantians through natural selection and to wipe out the current civilizations by creating a superior race of mutant beasts but was imprisoned by the others. She was then freed in 1945 by a nuclear test. She would then become a wealthy businesswoman and the CEO of Natla Technologies and manipulates Lara to collect for her a powerful Atlantian device so she can create an army of monsters with which to conquer the world. She believes the human race has become decadent, like the Atlanteans before them.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- Attempted to become the sole authority of Atlantis and kill her fellow rulers and the Atlantian race by creating a superior race of mutant beasts.
- Attempted to do the same to humanity and conquer the world the same way.
- Betrayed, manipulated and attempted to kill Lara after she completed her task for her.
- Sends a doppelganger of Lara to her mansion, killing her friend and setting it on fire in the process.
- Promised to free Lara's mother in order to manipulate her, only to reveal that her mother was dead and mockingly revealing she killed her father personally, showing she's happy to emotionally abuse her enemies when it suits her.
- Sent a doppelganger to kill her boss, when she no longer viewed her as useful.
- Attempts to release the Midgard Serpent to destroy humanity.
- Spitefully tried to have Lara killed while dying herself, wanting to "take you with me".
Trivia[]
- She is one of the 2 Tomb Raider villains to be Pure Evil, along with Jonathan Reiss.
- However she is the only Tomb Raider Villain to be Pure Evil in the games, although It's possible that Sophia Leigh, Seth, Pieter Van Eckhardt and Sun Queen Himiko are likely to count as well.
