Jack Barts is a major antagonist of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, serving as the main antagonist for the first half of the movie.

He was portrayed by Marton Czokas.

Biography[]

Jack Barts is a vampiric slaver who is one of Adam's top enforcers and the initial archenemy of Abraham Lincoln until his death at Lincoln's hands, and his killing of Nancy is what caused Lincoln to hunt vampires as an adult.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • Prior to the start of the movie, he presumably took part in Adam's vampire crusades for centuries, killing and feeding off of them, and using them for slavery, and eventually coming to America, to kill Native Americans and take over.
  • At the start of the movie, he is already established to be a slave trader, selling to humans, and to vampires to be fed off of, and even sells children as shown with William Johnson.
  • Threatens Abraham Lincoln's father for attacking one of his men standing up to him and his selling slaves.
  • Kills Nancy Lincoln when her family leaves his employ out of disgust towards him.
  • Is implied to be a serial killer of women, as shown with a recently deceased women in an outhouse, something which even irritates Adam and Vadoma, as it puts them in danger of being found out.
  • When he sees Lincoln trying to shoot him, he tries to goad him the latter into killing him, (possibly sarcastically) and likely would have killed Lincoln if not for Henry Sturges' intervention.
  • Attempts to kill Mary Todd.
  • When Lincoln finally faces him off, he uses a stampede of innocent animals for cover, even throwing some of them at Lincoln.
  • When he is defeated, he gloats about how Adam and the other vampires are going to ravage the country, and reveals to Lincoln about how Henry Sturges is also a vampire.
