~ J. Geil to Polnareff. |
J. Geil, (also known as J. Gale or Centerfold in various localizations) is a major antagonist in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. J. Geil is the son of Enya Geil and one of the mercenaries hired by Dio Brando. He wields the Stand Hanged Man, which has the ability to attack its target from reflective surfaces. He's also the archenemy of Jean Pierre Polnareff due to J. Geil being the rapist and murderer of his sister.
In the Japanese version, he was voiced by Mugihito in the OVA, Shigeru Chiba in the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders drama CD, Yoshito Yasuhara in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle, and Takuya Kirimoto in the anime. In the English version, he was voiced by Dave Arendash in the OVA, and Tom Fahn in the anime.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He is responsible for the defilement and murder of several women, one of them being Sherry Polnareff, the younger sister of Jean Pierre Polnareff, attempting to do the same to Sherry's friend who narrowly escaped.
- In the OVA version, he manages to kill Sherry's friend as well by decapitating her.
- Joins Dio as one of his men and assists him in his plans for world domination. And unlike his mother, it was never shown or implied that J. Geil holds any genuine loyalty towards Dio, presumably allying with him out of the benefits or rewards he would provide for him.
- Nearly kills Avdol by stabbing him in the back and allowing for Hol Horse to shoot him in the head, he also later attempts to kill both Polnareff and Kakyoin.
- Although he does partners himself with Hol Horse, it’s never stated whether he actually cares about him other than for pragmatic reasons. Considering Hol Horse fled immediately after knowing J. Geil is dead, their relationship doesn't seem to be firm.
- Used a young boy and a group of beggars as hostages against Polnareff so he wouldn’t be able to harm his stand without bringing harm to the hostages.
- Attempts to frame an innocent passerby for being him by attacking him and giving him the same injury as him so Polnareff would kill him instead, and the OVA, J. Geil has seemingly killed the passerby as he shown to likely succumbed to his injuries.
- Mocks Polnareff for his inability to avenge his sister's death and how he wasted all his life hunting him down, while boasting of how he raped and killed Polnareff’s sister, noting how good she was at screaming.
- After being fatally injured, attempts to cowardly flee from Polnareff.
- In the OVA, after being injured from Silver Chariot, he’d tried to plea to Polnareff to spare his life, although Polnareff immediately rebutted his fake apology by stating his sister must’ve said the same thing before he killed her for his own twisted desires.
- Even if his mother loved him, it's never mentioned if he loved her in return.
- Although his mother bursted in tears over his demise, this scene doesn't make him slightly sympathetic, but rather showing how delusional Enya is about her son, imagining him a noble man despite the fact he is a rapist.
- Despite the high heinous standards of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, J. Geil manages to stand out due to having very few resources and a lot of personal villainy towards Polnareff, as well as being one of the few rapists in the original continuity.
