~ Iron Baron to Wu in "Lessons for a Master". |
Iron Baron is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Lord Garmadon) of Season 9: Hunted of LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.
He was the leader of the Dragon Hunters who hunted, enslaved and presumably feasted on Dragons. He also used his Hunters' fear of the Oni to control them. His main goal is to find the Dragon Armor and control the Firstbourne for his own gain. He is one of Wu's arch nemeses.
He was voiced by Brian Drummond.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He hunted, enslaved and feasted on dragons in the First Realm for years with his Dragon Hunters, causing the species to greatly decrease in number. This is worse when considering Dragons are sentient and intelligent creatures.
- In a misogynistic manner, he forced Faith, who was the best Hunter at the time, to hide her true identity under a mask so that no one knew his best Hunter was a woman.
- He sought to find the Dragon Armor with the belief that wearing it would control the Firstbourne. This led him to lose his left leg and arm courtesy of the mother of all Dragons. It’s also implied that he sought to use the Firstbourne to travel to the other realms and conquer them as well.
- He presumably killed his group of Hunters that went with him in Oni Land when discovering the Oni were no longer here. He then made a fake story out of it to increase his Hunters' fear of the Oni.
- He would then continue to create lies and false stories to ensure his Hunters followed him without question.
- Faith even pointed to the ninja that, among Baron's Hunters, it's his way or be cast out.
- After the Ultra Dragon returned to the First Realm, he killed it, using its bones to make his throne.
- When the ninja arrived in the Realm, he sent a group of Hunters to capture them with the misguided claim that they are Onis, even when the ninja tried to convince him they weren't Oni.
- He hosted a gladiator-like arena in which he ordered the ninja to be thrown into the Pit with the intentions they would be slaughtered by a captured Earth Dragon named Slab.
- After the ninja used their powers to tame down Slab, Iron Baron realized they weren't Oni and ordered their capture.
- The night of a hunt, he tied the ninja to a pole before activating a device that triggered Elemental reactions. Those reactions eventually attracted a Wind Dragon that him and his Hunters eventually captured.
- After bringing the Wind Dragon back to the Dead's End, Iron Baron planned to burn the her alive for a feast and nearly succeeded.
- When the fake Firstbourne appeared, he ordered to bring it down, even wanting to take it down himself then laughing when he shot it.
- He ordered his Hunters to capture the ninja so he could them as baits again, this time for the Firstbourne.
- After the ninja escaped, he ordered the Dieselnaut to be ready so he can hunt them.
- After Chew Toy deduced where the ninja go through his scent, Iron Baron ordered Jet Jack to hunt them.
- When chasing the Ninja, he jumped on Faith's speeder and nearly made Wu fall by firing a chain from his mechanical arm.
- One thing that should be noted is when he tried to kill Faith after nearly making Wu fall once he took the Dragon Blade. Prior to catching up with Faith, he offered Jet Jack (after the latter complained about the fact that he allowed another woman to become his Number Two instead of her) that whoever captures Faith becomes his Number Two. Next, he tried to kill Faith before Jet Jack or other Hunters even got the chance to capture her, showing he doesn't really care about offers he makes.
- It also show why Baron wanted Faith alive before the chase began, it was because he wanted to kill her himself.
- He had Faith buried alive as a bait to capture the ninja, which eventually succeeded. He then proceeded to tie the ninja and Faith on poles.
- When the Hunters started doubting him, he suddenly threatened them to cut their hands should they side with Faith, before activating the pole to make the ninja and Faith laugh, presumably to death.
- When Jet Jack asked to accompany Baron for protection, the Hunter leader denied and added that once he gets the Dragon Armor, he wouldn't need protection but his Hunters would need him.
- While he claims that he needed to lie in order to survive in the First Realm (which he calls a cruel world), this is merely an excuse for his evil actions.
- Once he and Wu arrived to Firstbourne's Nest, Baron spotted the Dragon Armor. He then pushed Wu aside and ran toward the Armor, claiming it was his.
- Once Firstbourne appeared, Baron quickly worn the Armor and ordered the mother of all Dragons to kill Wu, thus revealing he never wanted to respect his offer toward Wu.
- Despite Wu telling that the Armor doesn't control Firstbourne, Iron Baron still tried and yelled at Firstbourne to kneel before him.
- Once Wu revealed that Firstbourne only allowed people who had a heart to ride her, Iron Baron felt feared and threw the Dragon Armor piece by piece at Firstbourne before trying to face her again, only for the mother of all Dragons to encase him in molten rock, trapping the Hunter leader.
- While the fear he felt was genuine, it was only for his own skin.
- Overall, he is such a cruel and rude boss that even his Hunters chose to side with the ninja once his true nature was revealed.
- His hunting of Dragons had an impact in March of the Oni, as the Hunters and the Dragons were easily overwhelmed by the Omega's Oni forces due to the Dragon species being so few in number because of Baron.
- While many villains in the series have done worse than him, Iron Baron has much less resources than nearly any all of them, due to having no superpowers, skills and only leading a moderate sized group of hunters.
