Injun Joe is the main antagonist of the 1876 novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by the late Mark Twain, the 1980 anime adaptation by Hiroshi Saitō and Nippon Animation, the 1995 Disney film adaptation Tom and Huck, and the 2014 film adaptation Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn. He is Tom Sawyer's archenemy.
He was portrayed by the late Vic Morrow in the 1973 TV-film, Enrique Garduza, Guillermo Romano and Antonio Raxel in the 1980 anime, Eric Schweig in the 1995 film, and Kaloian Vodenicharov in the 2014 film.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

- While he had a tragic backstory of being whipped by Mr. Douglas, a police officer, but that does not excuse his atrocious crimes and he still completely subverted this tragedy by killing innocent people, who had nothing to do with his past and humiliations, making him a delusional and murderous hypocrite.
- He murders Doc Robinson as the revenge for not giving him food when he asked doctor and frames Muff Potter for this, which led to Potter being nearly executed on the trial.
- He plotted to murder Tom for exposing him as the true murderer of Doc Robinson, and he doesn't care that Tom was an innocent child, who only wanted to save Muff and had no choice, other than do this, making Injun a vengeful and hypocritical madman.
Exclusive to the movie version[]
- He is notably darker and more sinister than his original book incarnation.
- He steals money from Doctor Jonas Robinson, by threatening to kill him if he refuses to give him his money.
- Just like his original version, he kills Doctor Robinson and frames Muff Potter for this, while also stealing the treasure of Vic Murrell.
- He threatened to kill Tom if he would expose him by telling the truth about his crimes.
- He lies to the court that Muff murdered Doctor Robinson, which led to Potter being nearly executed by hanging.
- He plotted to murder Tom and Huck for exposing him as a murderer and criminal, despite the protagonists being just innocent children, who had no choice except exposing him to save Muff.
