~ Igor as he allows Count Dracula to kill Dr. Victor Frankenstein. |
Igor is a supporting antagonist in the 2004 dark fantasy horror action film Van Helsing. He was a former assistant of Dr. Victor Frankenstein and a well-paid minion of Count Dracula.
He was portrayed by Kevin J. O'Connor.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He gleefully betrays his master, Dr. Victor Frankenstein, who had treated him well by allowing Count Dracula to murder him, and agrees to aid the count in creating a machine that will drain the Frankenstein monster of his energy so he may bring his vampire children to life, and have them feed on humanity-all of which was done because Dracula had paid him well.
- Aided Dracula is draining the energy from Boris Valerious as a substitute for the monster, only to kill him in the process.
- Abused his own Dwergi minions, and tortures Velkan Valerious in his werewolf form with his electric shock stick just for fun.
- Assists Dracula in using his machine to drain Velkan of his werewolf venom, temporarily bringing Dracula's vampire children to life. They end up attacking a small village in Transylvania, killing many people and causing much damage before they all die.
- Kidnaps the Frankenstein Monster to take him to have his energy drained by Dracula's machine.
- Cowardly betrays his master to Van Helsing by leading both Anna Velarious and the friar, Carl, to a room that contains the werewolf cure, knowing full well that if they take it, Dracula will not be able to use it to stop Van Helsing from killing him in his werewolf form.
- When Carl is distracted, Igor kicks him into the room to be trapped with Anna, leaving them to almost be eaten by one of Dracula's brides, Aleera.
- When Carl escapes with the cure, Igor attacks him with his shock stick and tries to kill him.
- Easily meets the heinous standards of the Van Helsing universe due to lacking any supernatural powers, and still managing to almost succeed in committing the genocide of all of humanity by aiding Dracula in building the necessary machine.
- While he has some comedic moments, they do not detract from his heinousness, as he is still taken seriously in-universe.
Trivia[]
- He is, so far, the only incarnation of Igor to be Pure Evil, given most incarnations portray him in a tragic light due to his deformity.
