Graf Hugo von der Drache, better known as Hugo Drax is the main antagonist of the 1955 James Bond novel Moonraker and its 1979 film adaptation of same name.
While the novel and film differ greatly in their portrayal of Drax, in both he is a megalomaniac who plans to wreak havoc and destruction on a world he sees as corrupt and "impure".
He was portrayed by the late Michael Lonsdale.

Trivia[]
- The film version of Hugo Drax is, alongside Max Zorin, one of the two James Bond villains from the Roger Moore era to be Pure Evil.
- While both versions are considered Pure Evil, his film version is considered by many to be even worse than his original novel version since his plan in the film involved wiping out nearly the entire human race with lethal toxins, which is often considered one of the most heinous plots in the entire James Bond filmography.
