~ High Override. |
The High Override is the overarching antagonist of the second season of the reboot of Ben 10. He is the high ruler of the Fulmini Empire.
He was voiced by Fred Tatasciore, who also voiced Sweet Tooth in Twisted Metal: Head-On, Ultron in Avengers Assemble, Malthus in The Conjuring franchise, Mephistopheles in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Don Corneo in Final Fantasy VII Remake, Megatron in Cybertron games and the Mad-Man in Primal.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- As the ruler of the Fulmini Empire, he has his ship obliterated and harvested energy from countless planets, even waging war against them and conquered said planet.
- Attempted to conquer Planet Khoros, home of the Tetramands, and wiped out their kind for their energy. Unfortunately, this backfired when they were attacked by hostile creatures in their place.
- It's implied he has often brainwashed and mind-controlled his Fulmini soldiers into doing his every bidding and simply because he could, even to the point he stated "no one has ever break free from my grasp".
- While Alien Worlds explains that the Fulmini Empire harvested planets to save their homeworld, it doesn't expand being one of the reasons to the High Override's campaign. Unlike them, the High Override's reasons involve wanting to conquer and rule amongst the galaxy, even declaring himself to be "the power of the universe" rather than doing so for the sake of his planet's conditional state, proving he is not an extremist but that of an egocentric tyrant.
- Even if the High Override and his empire had enough energy stored to create a new home planet, Fulmas 2 (which is also their mothership), they still continued harvesting and obliterating planets left and right for no other reasons than just for conquest. Further proving that he no longer cares about his homeplanet, even if that were true, the situation regarding this was his and his kind's own fault for their selfishness and warmongering that resulted in said planet's destruction in the first place.
- Setting sights on Earth and acknowledging DNA of a Fulmini in Ben's Omnitrix, he telepathically sends Ben messages regarding the titular Innervasion and oftentimes pretend to help him to get closer to the boy.
- He would have Ben build a scorpion-like robot as a beacon to signal the rest of his Empire above, which later on activated and endangered several civilians inside their cars when absorbing them.
- It's heavily implied that by communicating with Ben and later controlling him, he made Ben have nightmares about the Fulmini, one of which he transforms into Shock Rock without the need of the Omnitrix's transformation to where he uncontrollably tried to kill Gwen.
- Kickstarting the invasion, he rallied up thousands of Fulmini soldiers to prepare the attack on Earth. When they were easily defeated, the High Override would revive and brainwash them into becoming his mindless soldiers, one of which their normal blue energy turns purple with no sign of free will.
- Brainwashed Ben and painfully controlled him into becoming his Fulmini soldier, having him attack Vilgax and Glitch for trying to destabilize the Omni-Core while trying to fight off the High Override's control, despite the fact that Ben was only a 10-year-old boy.
- Banishing Vilgax into the Null Void, which acted off as a fate worse than death (although it would be revealed he survived later on in Ben 10 vs the Universe).
- When Gwen and Grandpa Max entered into the Omnitrix, he forced Ben to kill them in the attempt just for "intervention". However, the latter manages to break free thanks to the former reaching out to Ben.
- Absorbed all of his Fulmini soldiers to become all-powerful in an attempt to kill Ben once and for all.
- In spite of how comedic and lighthearted the Ben 10 reboot series is compared to the classic continuity, the High Override darkens the mood of the series whenever he appears onscreen. Coupled with a majority of the reboot's villains being played for laughs and having multiple comedic moments, he is one of the few exceptional villains who are taken very seriously, especially his actions.
- He stands out as the most heinous villain in the reboot series, more so than Vilgax could ever manage, due to harvesting the energy of countless planets and later either waged war against them, obliterated them, or conquered them.
Trivia[]
- He is the only Ben 10 Pure Evil to be from the reboot series.
