Hexxus is the main antagonist of the 1992 animated fantasy musical film FernGully: The Last Rainforest, which is based on the book of the same name by Diana Young.
He is the spirit of destruction and pollution with the sole desire to destroy FernGully as revenge against the fairies and spread destruction across the world, killing anyone and anything in his way.
He was voiced by Tim Curry, who also played It in the 1990s miniseries of the same name, Taurus Bulba in Darkwing Duck, Skullmaster in Mighty Max, Slagar the Cruel in Redwall, Von Talon in Valiant, Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Anatoly Cherdenko in Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, and Nihilus in The Story Keepers.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- His overall goal was to pollute and destroy all life on Earth, simply because he enjoyed it.
- He spread destruction across the world by causing the eruption of Mt. Warning, which resulted in the deaths of countless sentient beings.
- After accidentally being freed from his prison and realizing that humans freed him using the "Leveler", he started absorbing the machine's energy before manipulating the lumberjacks into using it to spread more pollution.
- Despite seemingly admiring humans and referring to them as "wonderful and helpful", he fully intended on killing them all as well.
- His manipulations resulted in much of the rainforest being destroyed.
- After arriving at FernGully, he prepared to destroy it and kill all of the fairies living there as revenge for them imprisoning him.
- While he had comedic moments. especially during his "Toxic Love" song, they only show how sadistic he is rather than detracting from his villainy.
