| “ | You let my plaything get away, Batman. That wasn't nice! Just because you're such a gloomy Gus doesn't mean we all have to be that way. Now that poor bitch will go back to her drab, little life, when I could've made her fun FOREVER! | „ |
| ~ Harlequin |
Harlequin is one of the main antagonists in the web-series Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles. She is an alternate version of Harley Quinn, who kidnaps many people and kills them to make dolls out of their corpses.
She was voiced by Tara Strong, who also voiced Miss Minutes in Marvel Cinematic Universe.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- Unlike other versions of Harley Quinn, Harlequin has no comedic moments, no redeeming qualities, and is not an anti-hero, being portrayed seriously as a deranged serial killer who kills people and makes gruesome dolls out of their corpses.
- She stored the heads of many of her other victims in a freezer, possibly until she decided what dolls to do with them. Considering one scene shows her picking her teeth in the mirror, it's not entirely illogical to assume that she could be a cannibal in addition to being a serial killer.
- Made a human jack-in-the-box with the corpse of a young man.
- Kidnapped, tied up, and gagged a young woman and left her in a box until she decided what doll to do with her, yet that woman was only able to escape such a hideous fate thanks to Batman's intervention.
- Killed, a family composed of a man, a woman, an elderly woman, and a young boy, made dolls out of their corpses and put them on her hideout as if they were having a normal evening in the 1950s. She also put staples on their mouths to make it look like they were smiling, and she took a photo with them as if they were her family.
- When Batman appeared in her hideout to put a stop to her serial murders, she tried to kill him with a hammer and then with a chainsaw.
- She's the only character in the Gods and Monsters canon that has no mitigating factors at all. While Darkseid loved Orion and wanted him to be happily married to Bekka, Highfather's actions could be justified if you believe Darkseid was still evil in this universe. Also, Brainiac was merely a child who had zero control over his actions, and Magnus was a tragic villain, and he even chose to commit suicide out of guilt for his own atrocities.
Trivia[]
