Hardgear' is the main antagonist of the 2000 anime OVA prequel Maetel Legend, the overarching antagonist of Space Symphony Maetel: Galaxy Express 999 Side Story and later a posthumous antagonist in Galaxy Express 999 and Adieu Galaxy Express 999.
He was voiced by Takashi Matsuyama in the Japanese version and Dan Green/Jay Snyder in the English version of the anime.
