Hakon is one of the posthumous overarching antagonists (along with Gillecomgain) of Gargoyles. He was the leader of the Vikings who attacked the castle of Wyvern during the late 10th century in Scotland and one of the earliest foes of Goliath and his clan.
He was played by Clancy Brown, who also played The Evil Entity in Scooby Doo! Mystery Incorporated, The Kurgan in Highlander, Baron Praxis in Jak II, Lex Luthor in Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Silas in Transformers: Prime and Bloodwolf in The Adventures of Puss in Boots.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He leads the attack on the castle of Wyvern refugees in Scotland, only to be stopped by the gargoyles.
- During the day, he returns and shatters most of the gargoyles there while they were defenseless and in stone, and was eager to kill Captain of the Guard if he interfered.
- He then captures all the refugees there and enslaves them.
- He makes fun of Magus for his magic book and tears some pages out to burn them; these pages just so happen to be the ones needed to reverse the spell Magus later used on Goliath's surviving clan members when he thought Princess Katherine was killed. Thus making Hakon even worse as he's somewhat responsible for the gargoyles being stone for thousands of years.
- When the Gargoyles come to their hideout, he attempts to kill Princess Katherine.
- When Goliath confronts him, he lies and frames Captain of the Guard before falling to his death.
- He haunted Goliath from the grave when Avalon sent Goliath back to the site where Castle of Wyvern, causing Goliath to Hallucinate and attack Elisa and Angela, causing him to almost fall to death, tries to make him blame himself for the massacre, and when he and Captain of the Guard drain Goliath's life energy to become alive again, Hakon attacks him.
- He possessed Wolf (who is his descendant) and again attacked Goliath and Hudson; even insulting Wolf when he keeps losing the battle.
