Grings Kodai is the main antagonist of the Pokémon film, Zoroark: Master of Illusions.
He was voiced by Takanori Jinnai in the Japanese version, and Sean Schemmel in the English version, who also voiced Cyrus in the same series, Makuta Teridax in Bionicle: The Game, Conrad in Berserk, Black Doom in Shadow the Hedgehog, Goku Black in Dragon Ball Super, and Skonk in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- 22 years ago, he touched a Time Ripple which gave him the ability to see into the future, but after he did that, he caused the Ripple to collapse and unleash a massive wave of "negative time" that ravaged the vegetation of Crown City, which took 20 years to grow back.
- While Kodai didn't know that absorbing a Time Ripple would devastate the ecosystem (he had only come to Crown City to learn the city's history, and he wasn't deliberately absorbing it to obtain future sight), his smug reaction to Ash saying "So you don't care what happens to Crown City?!" only proves that he doesn't care that absorbing the Time Ripple again will devastate Crown City's ecosystem.
- He kidnaps Zorua in order to blackmail his mother into doing whatever he wants.
- He attempted to kill Ash, who is only a 10-years old child.
- He strangles Celebi to try and force it to reveal the location of the Time Ripple.
- He tortures Zorua on-screen with his Shock Glove to near-fatal extents, and threatens to kill him if Zoroark tries to interfere with his plans.
- He electrocutes Zoroark to death in a fit of rage after she foils his plan to absorb the Time Ripple. This is a rare case where a villain intentionally murders a Pokémon, even though she gets revived.
