Granny Goodness is the main antagonist of Young Justice: Outsiders, the third season of Young Justice.
She is a New God from Apokolips and a servant of Darkseid. Granny's objective is to discover the Anti-Life Equation to remove free will all across the universe.
She was voiced by Deborah Strang.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- She worked under Darkseid, helping him in his goal to conquer all life in the universe.
- She created the Goode Goggles, a device which would test teenagers for the Meta-gene.
- If they tested positive, would be subliminally directed to a meta-human trafficking center. They would then have their meta-gene forcibly activated, enslaved and trafficked on the black market.
- She abducted countless meta-teens, taking them to the Orphanage as slaves or selling them to extraterrestrial buyers to use as weapons.
- After Garfield discovers her true identity, she uses her authority to force Garfield to film fifty-two takes of the same scene for his television series.
- When Barda reveals she led the Justice League to The Orphanage to fight them head-on, Granny tortures her for acting on her own authority.
- When the Justice League enters the Orphanage and fight The Furies and encounter Darkseid's machine, Granny activates it, getting the Furies caught in the blast and subjecting them all to excruciating pain, which Granny calls glorious.
- When Nightwing and Black Lightning break into her home, she sends them to the X-Pit, where they tortured for an extended period of time.
- Even after escaping the X-Pit, Nightwing remains unconscious, writhing in tears and pain due to the prolonged exposure in the X-Pit.
- When Aquaman and Wyynde come to rescue Nightwing and Black Lightning, she has them enter the X-Pit themselves to retrieve the heroes instead of getting them herself, forcing them to endure more pain.
- She doesn't allow Aquaman and Wyynde to take Motherbox with them, and when they refuse to leave Motherbox behind, she takes control of Nightwing and Black Lightning's minds to have them attack the heroes.
- She orders Overlord to kill Motherbox, nearly succeeding were it not for Halo and Cyborg's arrival.
- She takes control of Halo then forces her into the X-Pit to perfect the Anti-Life Equation.
- She pushes Helga Jace into the X-Pit to test her theory, then has the doctor expose her secret nature to Bryon and Tara, horrifying and angering them.
- She takes control of almost the entire Justice League using her machine and Halo.
- When The Team arrives to rescue Halo, she mocks Bryon for all of his losses and failures.
- She reveals her intention to activate the Anti-Life Equation all across the universe.
- This process would subject any non meta-humans to excruciating pain before eventually killing them and forcing all meta-humans to become puppets under Darkseid's control, something Granny takes sadistic pleasure in.
- She activates the machine, putting the rest of the Team under her control and preparing to do so to the rest of the universe.
- She transports the Outsiders into the X-Pit, then takes Beast Boy out of the pit to fight him one-on-one, pummeling him relentlessly even when he is defeated.
- Despite her loyalty to Darkseid, this is not a redeeming quality, since she is perfectly willing to deviate from his orders or act on her own authority to deal with her enemies.
- Furthermore, she only worships him for his god-like status and the suffering he inflicts rather than him as a person.
- She takes sadistic pleasure in watching others in pain, and she justifies her treatment as "discipline".
- Despite the massive Heinous Standards of the series, Granny Goodness manages to stand out with her actions and sadistic nature.
