"Well... a lowly Tarnished, playing as a lord. I command thee, kneel! I am the lord of all that is golden!"
~ Godrick upon meeting the Tarnished
"Forefathers one and all.......bear witness!"
~ Godrick after grafting the head of a deceased dragon onto his arm

Godrick The Grafted, formerly known as Godrick the Golden, is a major antagonist in FromSoftware's 2022 action-RPG game Elden Ring.

He is a member of Godfrey and Marika's lineage, who acts as the ruler of Stormveil Castle. Believing himself to be a true successor of Godfrey, Godrick intends on proving his worth by killing those that dare choose to come across his path and turn their blades against him.

He is voiced by Ramon Tikaram.

What Makes him Pure Evil?[]

  • Conquered Limgrave with an army of soldiers, ruling the province as a tyrant and using Stormveil Castle as a personal laboratory to experiment with grafting.
  • During his experiments, he created the Grafted Scions, living monstrosities constructed from limbs grafted onto the bodies of children.
    • There are some implications these children are also of the Golden lineage, making them his relatives.
  • He began sending his soldiers to hunt the Tarnished, murdering them and grafting their limbs onto their bodies.
  • He disrespected Malenia when she began her southward march, leading to a battle where he was left humiliated and begging for mercy.
  • He is so heinous, that even some of his own men despise him.
  • He captures and kills a dragon, later using it's decapitated head as a flamethrower to kill the Tarnished.
  • While he claims himself to be a rightful heir descendant of Godfrey of who he admires, this could be for pragmatic reasons for he only uses this as a petty excuse to have his foes and subordinates alike all fear him.

Trivia[]

  • Him, Dung Eater, Seluvis and Bayle the Dread are the only Elden Ring villains to be Pure Evil.
  • His manga incarnation does not qualify as Pure Evil due to having quite a few comedic moments that detract from his villainy, as well as having several redeeming qualities.
