There's no need to be afraid.
~ God revealing Himself.

God is the main antagonist of the comic book series Preacher, and its 2016 AMC television series adaptation of the same name.

He was portrayed by Mark Harelik in the comic book's TV adaptation.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • In the beginning He created the angels, just to alleviate his boredom and loneliness so they would praise and loves him, but then he was bored of angels's worshipping and created humankind to love Him, even though he knew he will condemn them to miserable existence.
  • When He told the angels about His plans of creating mankind, they were horrified of his announcement and tried to resist him and great war began on Heaven, ending with massive carnage, leading to the remaining angels being expelled from Heavens.
  • Feared to fail up what He intended and orchestrated the deaths of one man's wife and daughter, leading him to become the Saint of the Killers.
  • Wanted humanity to worship Him, even though He was responsible for all wars, famines and heinous atrocities in the world.
  • Created Genesis, the being conceived from seraphim and demon, wanting to know if a being more powerful than Him would love Him.
  • When Genesis possessed Jesse Caster, Jesse decided to find God and ask Him about his abandonment, he confronted God and He proposed Jesse to be blessed if he left him, but Jesse accused God of cowardice, making Him threaten to destroy Jesse. He would have murdered him, if Saint of the Killers wouldn't intervene, because Saint of the Killers was one of the few things God feared.
  • When Jesse created a plan to lure God into Heavens, by releasing Genesis, God made a deal with vampire Cassidy to kill Jesse and remove Genesis from his body.
  • When he returned to Heaven and encountered Saint of the Killers, He cowardly tried to reason with Saint of the Killers, only to be shot dead by him.
