I am the Demon Lord who presides over this land you look down upon, this world you call the surface. You may call me Ghirahim. In truth, I very much prefer to be indulged with my full title: Lord Ghirahim. But I'm not fussy.
Still... it hardly seems fair, being of my position, to take all my anger out on you. Which is why I promise up front not to murder you... No, I'll just beat you within an inch of your life!

~ Ghirahim's most famous quote before his first battle with Link.
He is an extremely powerful and flamboyant being born from the Demon King Demise's sword and the evil counterpart to the Goddess Sword's spirit, Fi. He aims to capture Zelda, the Goddess Hylia reincarnated, and use her to free Demise from his current imprisonment.
He was voiced by Anri Katsu, who also voiced Killbus in Kamen Rider Build NEW WORLD: Kamen Rider Cross-Z.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
He likely participated in his master's first invasion of the surface millennia prior to the events of the game.
He sought to free Demise (who was his master) with the goal of destroying all life on the planet with his power and monstrosity.
After Link destroyed Demise with the Triforce, he kidnapped Zelda and took her through the Gate of Time (where Demise was still alive) to feed her soul to Demise by torturing her to death with a ritual.
He tried to torture and kill Link in brutal and horrifying ways.
In the Skyview Temple, he tries to kill Link himself for seemingly no reason.
In the Earth Temple, he corrupts a giant boulder with his magic and turns it into Scaldera with the full intention of killing Link with it.
In the Ancient Cistern, he corrupts Koloktos with malice, defeating its purpose of protecting the Cistern and violating its sanctity.
While not officially confirmed, he likely sent Tentalus to attack the Sandship to stop Link from obtaining the Sacred Flame.
He tries to kill Link again in the Fire Sanctuary for rightfully refusing to tell him where the Gate of Time is.
He makes one last attempt to kill Link in Hylia's realm, and brags about having completed the ritual after being defeated.
He sent an army of Bokoblins to cause mass destruction across the Faron region such as having them attack Gorko, an innocent Goron archaeologist who was simply passing by, and similarly attacking the Kikwi, causing them all to hide from them in fear.
He attempted to kill Impa at the Temple of Time and even summoned a barrier to stop Link from interfering, and would have succeeded if he had broken Impa's barrier sooner.
He would later threaten to make Link suffer so much that he "would deafen himself with the sound of his own screams."
It is also stated that he wounded and shrunk Faron, forcing her to heal in her basin.
He likely corrupted Levias with Bilocyte.
He awakened all of his minions such as Bokoblins, Moblins, Stalfos and whatnot to attack Link and threatens to kill them himself if they don't comply despite knowing they will almost definitely be killed by Link if they fight him, essentially ensuring they'll die either way, showing he has no care for his minions.
While he does revive Demise and went to great lengths to accomplish this throughout the game, this is out of pure fanaticism rather than loyalty, viewing Demise as the ultimate symbol for his bloodlust.
While he does have comedic moments, they don't detract from his villainy as he is taken seriously most of the time, only serving to make him more unsettling.
While certain other villains in the franchise rival him in heinousness, with some like his master being worse, Ghirahim stands out in the series due to his sadism that is extreme even by the standards of the series, his horrific Bad Boss tendencies and the destructive nature of his plan to unleash the series' version of Satan and bring Hell on Earth, which has dire ramifications throughout the series.
While he may seem to lack moral agency due to being the spirit of the sword of Demise, it is shown and stated by his heroic opposite, Fi, that the sword spirits are capable of their own morals and choices and are self-aware, thus proving he has a clear moral agency. Furthermore Batreaux proves that demons in the Zelda universe can choose to be good, showing that Ghirahim simply chooses to not do good because he lacks any interest in it.
