You call me Deathshead...I don't like it. I'm a happy man, you see? It doesn't sound right in English. Say it...correctly. Toten...kopf.
~ Deathshead, telling Blazkowicz to refer to his name in German.

Dr. Obergruppenführer (General) Wilhelm Strasse, also known as "Totenkopf" or "Deathshead" due to his skull-like visage, is the main antagonist of the Wolfenstein series and the archenemy of William J. Blazkowicz. He is the secondary antagonist in Return to Castle Wolfenstein, the main antagonist of its 2009 sequel Wolfenstein and its 2014 sequel Wolfenstein: The New Order, one of the two unseen overarching antagonists in its 2015 prequel Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (along with Hitler), and the posthumous overarching antagonist in its 2017 sequel Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.

In the 2009 game, he was voiced by Robin Atkin Downes, who also voiced Solaris in All-Star Superman, Valak in The Conjuring 2, Shinnok in the Mortal Kombat franchise and Emperor Nefarious in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. In The New Order, he was voiced by Dwight Schultz.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?

  • Forced BJ to choose whether he should dissect Fergus or Wyatt, leaving the surviving USA soldiers to burn alive in a crematorium afterwards.
  • Had the Nazis deliver asylum patients to him for experimentation, then ordered the place massacred when he decided that he no longer needed them. Anya's parents died trying to defend the patients.
  • Puts BJ's dissected friend's brain in a robot body, making them fight each other.
  • Blows both himself and BJ up with a grenade, crippling the latter.

  • Deathshead and Rip are the only Wolfenstein Pure Evils.
