“ | When I grow weary of the noises you make, you shall die! | „ |
~ Sarris before killing a Thermian captain. |
General Roth'h'ar Sarris is the main antagonist of the 1999 sci-fi comedy film Galaxy Quest.
He is the leader of the hostile Fatu-Krey who is after the Thermians' Omega 13 device, believing it to bring him enough power to take over the galaxy. After destroying the Thermians' home planet, they pursue the survivors on the NSEA Protector, a ship built on "historical documents" aka the television series Galaxy Quest. Beaming up the cast of the series, they are the only source to save the Thermians from Sarris.
He was portrayed by the late Robin Sachs.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Destroys the Thermians' home planet for sadistic pleasure, torturing or enslaving the captives and constantly betraying them in their dealings.
- Tortures the previous commander of the Thermians for information about the Omega 13. Even after having gotten the information from him, Sarris continues to torture him, saying that he'd only stop when he grew weary of the noises he made.
- Kills his lieutenant for not raising the ship shields in time to avoid the galactic minefield.
- Takes Mathesar captive then tortures him to force Nesmith to tell him the truth about the Omega 13, then prepares to torture DeMarco to get the information he wants.
- Taunts Mathesar about the heroes they summon being nothing but actors, breaking his spirit.
- Implements the Protector to self-destruct while the Galaxy Quest crew and the remaining Thermians were to be sucked out of an airlock.
- Beams aboard the Protector and shoots everyone standing in his way of the Omega 13.
- Lacks the comedic elements that most characters in the movie have regardless of being human or Thermian.
- He has absolutely no reason for hating and trying to genocide the Thermians, as they never did anything to him.
