“ | My master comes to usher in a new era; one of conquest and strength. Those loyal to him will be rewarded beyond measure. The royal family dies tonight. | „ |
~ The Galalunan Commander's last words. |
The Galalunan Commander, also known as The Traitor, is a minor yet pivotal antagonist of Sym-Bionic Titan, serving as the main antagonist of the episode "Escape From Galaluna".
He is a former commander of Galaluna who's task was to protect Galaluna under orders from the King and Queen. However, after General Modula offered him a "reward beyond measure", he decided to sell out his own planet and race to him and let the Mutraddi invade Galaluna.
He was voiced by Corey Burton, who also voiced Brainiac in the DC Animated Universe, Brainiac 1.0 in Legion of Super Heroes, Megatron in Transformers: Animated, V.V. Argost in The Secret Saturdays, Zeus in God of War, Silver Cyclone in Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Hugo Strange in Batman: Arkham City.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- During a hostage situation, when Lance infiltrates the base and finds all of the hostages killed by the Mutraddi, he frames Lance for getting the hostages killed by going against orders and has Lance arrested.
- When Lance tries to warn the King about the upcoming invasion, the commander convinces the King that Lance is crazy, giving the Mutraddi the chance to prepare the invasion without interference.
- He conspired with General Modula to overthrow the Galalunan monarchy and conquer the planet, betraying his own people, getting hundreds if not thousands of innocent citizens killed and helping enslave the entire Galalunan population.
- He orders his Mutraddi soldiers to find and kill the King while he attempts to kill Lance in a duel.
- As he and Lance fight in front of the destroyed city and Lance confronts the commander over his actions, he shows no remorse for the death of his own people, and coldly states that the royal family would die that night.
- Though he said there were other traitors who helped overthrow the monarchy, none of those traitors were ever shown nor were their roles in the coup ever stated, and he's the only other traitor besides General Modula shown on-screen.
- Unlike General Modula's other minions who joined him out of loyalty or fear, the Galalunan Commander only joined General Modula out of self-interest and to gain more power in Modula's new rule.
- Despite his limited screentime, the Galalunan Commander manages to stand out due to betraying his own people, as well as possessing less resources than General Modula.
Trivia[]
- The Galalunan Commander is, alongside General Modula, one of the only two Sym-Bionic Titan villains to be Pure Evil.
