| ~ Grimsrud threatening Jean Lundegaard |
Gaear Grimsrud is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Carl Showalter) of the 1996 dark-comedy crime thriller film Fargo. He is a sociopathic career criminal who, along with his partner-in-crime Carl Showalter, kidnaps and murders Jean Lundegaard.
He was portrayed by Peter Stormare, who also played Dino Velvet in 8mm, Meltdown in Transformers: Animated, The Nazi Officer in Sebaton's music video "Uprising" and Werner Zytle in Arrow.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He makes his living through assault, kidnapping, and murder.
- He and Carl Showalter kidnap Jean Lundegaard. He also treats her with unnecessary violence, hitting her and throwing her around roughly.
- He shoots and kills a state trooper when ordered him and Showalter to get out of their car. This even shocks Showalter.
- He murders two teenagers to keep them from going to the police after they saw Showalter trying to dispose of the body.
- He beats Jean to death just because she was annoying him.
- He murders Showalter after he refuses to split the Cierra's value and grinds his body in a woodchipper.
- While it's rumored to be friend with Shep Proudfoot there's no solid proof of that and the fact that Shep vouch for him could be simply because Grimsrud is a little more smart than Showalter than being his friend. Another reason could just because both him and Shep are men of few words.
- When he's arrested by Marge Gunderson he shows no remorse or shame for his heinous crimes earning her disgust which makes her say that "There's more to life than a little money."
Trivia[]
- He is one of the three Coen Brothers villains to be Pure Evil, along with Anton Chigurh and Lorne Malvo.
