What kind of old lady are you?!
~ SpongeBob to the Ice Cream Lady in horror before she reveals her true form.

The Frogfish Monster, also known as the Ice Cream Lady and Mr. Whiskers, is a minor antagonist in Nickelodeon's 11th full-length feature film The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.

She is a murderous frogfish who tricks fish into stopping at a free ice cream stall while having her tongue pose as an old lady who works at said stand.

She was voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who also voiced the Jellien Leader in the main series, Stanislaus Braun in Fallout 3, Atomic Skull in Superman Vs. The Elite and the Lighthouse Keeper in What's New, Scooby-Doo?. In her Ice Cream Lady form, she was voiced by Sirena Irwin, who also voiced Madame Kassandra in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake. In her Mr. Whiskers form, she was voiced by Tom Kenny, who also voices Starscream in Transformers: Animated, The Anti-Monitor in Green Lantern: The Animated Series, King Jellybean in Rick & Morty, Orgalorg in Adventure Time and Teddy Juicer in The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange.

What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]

  • Under the facade of a kind old lady ice cream vendor, she lured several fish and killed them by devouring them with her sticky tongue. Although all their murders are off-screen, thousands of skulls are seen from the background, which prevents relying on off-screen villainy without clear evidence of their deaths.
  • She tricked SpongeBob and Patrick by pretending she was going to sell them ice cream before catching SpongeBob with her sticky tongue and chasing them to try to kill them, Old Lady offering them ice cream and letting them pet her cat which is just another bait that scares SpongeBob and Patrick further.
  • Her death, although brutal and somewhat comical as she is suddenly devoured by a larger monster, is well-deserved for her actions and serves as a sign that her reign of terror is over.
  • She is not a mindless predator, as she is smart enough to create a facade to deceive her victims and devour them in a supposed ice cream shop and even speaks as the Old Lady posing in her tongue.
    • Also, later, SpongeBob and Patrick encounter similar monsters that can not only think, but also choose not to kill them both and sing happily along, which proves once again that she is evil by choice.
  • While still comedic out-of-universe, she's taken significantly more seriously in-universe, compared to most villains, in a vein similar to the Cyclops.
  • Despite the high heinous standards of the series, she passes due to only having a couple of scenes worth of screen time, yet still managing to have a kill count of hundreds or thousands, and indirectly causing SpongeBob and Patrick to get lost by eating the Patty Wagon, which was their only way of transportation up to that point.

Trivia[]

  • She and the Cyclops are the only SpongeBob SquarePants Pure Evils to originate from the film series.
  • She, Madame Kassandra, and Queen Karen are the only three female SpongeBob SquarePants Pure Evils.
