| ~ Dr. Friedrich Steiner before his death. |
Friedrich Steiner is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Lev Kravchenko) in the 2010 first-person shooter game Call of Duty: Black Ops.
He is a German ex-Nazi scientist who was responsible for the creation of the chemical weapon Nova 6, which he conspired with Nikita Dragovich and Lev Kravchenko to be used against the United States during the Cold War.
He is voiced by Mark Bramhall.
What makes him Pure Evil?[]
- Served as an Nazi scientist/officer during World War 2 and apparently committed war crimes.
- Betrayed his own soldiers after WW2 to save his own skin by leaving them to be slaughtered by Dragovich's men.
- Experimented with unwilling subjects in order to test his biochemical weapon Nova 6.
- Used unwilling human subjects to be brainwashed as sleeper agents. He has also experimented on pigs and monkeys at Rebirth Island.
- After Reznov destroyed it, he recreated Nova 6 for Dragovich and Kravchenko to use it to commit many atrocities.
- Attempted genocide against the United States with Nova 6 using his sleeper agents.
- Brainwashed Alex Mason alongside Dragovich and Kravchenko.
- He tried to defect to the CIA in his last moments not out of remorse, but out of cowardice and cunning because Dragovich planned to kill him to tie up a loose end.
- He tried to get away with his crimes by making a deal with the CIA, which only led to his deserved demise at the hands of Alex Mason. Plus, there's no actual evidence that he was trying to redeem himself as his reprehensible actions were far too heavy to even count as such. Also, when he made the contact with Hudson and Weaver, he speaks to them in arrogance, which showes that he tried to lie to the CIA and carry with his crimes later on.
- Although it's mentioned that he suffered deeply in his youth because of night terrors and paranoia from growing up in war times, it is overall a lowly petty excuse for his involvement in the war zone since he ruined the life of many innocent people regardless of what happend to him.
- His desire to help the CIA is pregmatic because of a few reasons:
- First he regreted only when Dragovich planed to murder him as loose end and if he was regreted regardless it was considered him as a redempation however he regreted only becasue he was afraid from death.
- His last words was "killing me will not stop Nova" which shows that he also was arrogant and wanted to desert to the CIA only to escape justice as well as earning personal goals.
