What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
In General[]
- Before the events of the story, Frank was a criminal and a hedonist, meaning he was evil even before the cenobites took him.
- Seduced and slept with his brother's fiancée, Julia Cotton, on the day of their wedding.
- After escaping the Cenobites, he manipulates Julia Cotton into murdering several people in the place where the Cenobites took him apart so he can be human again. Three people are shown to have been killed in this way, though the sequel implies there could be more.
- When Kirsty catches him draining the blood of one of his victims, he tries to force himself on her.
- Murdering his brother and stealing his skin.
- Tried to rape Kirsty.
- He was unshaken when he killed Julia by mistake, merely drained her energy, and tossed her aside to continue his chase for Kirsty.
- After accidentally revealing himself to the Cenobites, Frank makes one last attempt to kill Kirsty out of spite.
Exclusive to the Novella[]
- Frank was repeatedly warned by the cenobites not to take their offer, yet he insisted they take him, negating any possible freudian excuse he might have. While this did not happen with his film counterpart, his later crimes certainly aren't justified by his torture.
- Unlike in the film, where Frank simply purchases the puzzle box, in the novella, Frank earns the box by smuggling drugs for crime bosses.
- Intends to kill Julia and run off with another woman once she's done restoring him.
- It's implied that he raped Julia on the night of her wedding.
Exclusive to the Film[]
- He kills and dissects several rats in Julia's attic.
- Taunted Kirsty for mourning her father, claiming he was dead long before they ever got to him.
- Posed as Kirsty’s deceased father to lure her into Hell so he can trap her and make her his sex slave.
- Though Frank doesn't have as high a kill count as Pinhead or the other villains in the franchise, he stands out due to having very few resources. Despite spending the majority of the film as a skinless zombie who has to rely on Julia for strength, he still manages to get several people killed in very painful ways, as well as being an attempted rapist. On top of that, Frank is very personal to Kirsty, having murdered her father and tried to rape her.
- He lures Kirsty to his Hell dimension by sending her letters where he pretends to be her deceased father, begging for help so he can make her his sex slave forever.
- What makes his attempted rape towards Kristy particularly heinous in the film is that she's his biological niece.
