Father Pike is the main antagonist in the 2023 crossover comic book, Ghost Rider/Wolverine: Weapons of Vengeance and the overarching antagonist of Hellverine.

He is the administrator and first leading-figure of Project Hellfire, a program created by Weapon Plus that involves weaponizing potential subjects through having demons take over their bodies to become mass-killing machines on behalf of Mephisto's will. Pike once gained the cooperation of an evil demon named Bagra-Ghul, who once possessed a young child named Bram Straub since birth, and later set eyes on having the demon grafted and possess Wolverine, turning him into "Hellverine" to become a mutant-killing weapon on behalf of Mephisto.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • He expresses an interest in weaponizing hellfire energy and its demons to create the ideal "killing machine", both literally and figuratively, on Mephisto's behalf. To which he comes in contact with Orchis, an anti-Mutant group, completely apathetic over the fact that they hate mutantkind to an extent and has no problems working with them as long as it benefits his best interests.
  • He was behind negotiating Orchis' funds for their operations from U.S. CIA and FBI agencies, making deals with them in return, one of them being what kickstarted Project Hellfire - a program that oversaw experimenting on demon corpses and bodies.
  • Negotiated with Bagra-Ghul into joining his project and foresee its abilities in demonstration, he had it kill two of his men and the adoptive mother of its host Bram Straub, Ada, right in front of him. Thus breaking him psychologically and in need of desperation to regain Bagra-Ghul out of a sense of identity issues.
  • Captured Wolverine and Ghost Rider when they infiltrated his base using mind-scanning helmets, electrocuting them and putting them in a trance.
  • He is responsible for the creation of Hellverine through transferring Bagra-Ghul from Bram to Wolverine himself, thus becoming a demonic warrior and weaponizing him into the perfect killing-machine.
    • It is explicitly shown that Wolverine is self-aware of his surroundings as Hellverine under Pike's control and is forced to commit every kill on any mutant with nothing to do about it but watch. Making this somewhat of a fate worse than death.
    • Father Pike himself also makes it clear that with Hellverine at his side, his first target to demonstrate his abilities is to wipe out all mutants and have their corpses turned into macabre statues.
    • Because of the procedures, Bagra-Ghul would later seek a new host and chosen Akihiro, Wolverine's dead son, to become the second Wolverine.
  • He ordered Hellverine to kill off dozens of mutants and turn their corpses into macabre statues in the aftermath, confirming to done so to five so far and later a couple of criminal mutants.
  • Forcibly tries to have Hellverine kill a baby mutant despite him trying to resist as much as he could, in spite Wolverine himself having held great detest against any harm placed on children. Which luckily he refuses at the last second through his willpower.
  • Electrocutes Ghost Rider and putting him back in a stasis pod when trying to stop Father Pike from further controlling the Hellverine.
  • Orders Hellverine to track down, kill, and turn 97 mutants into macabre statues at a nearby mountain outpost, only to be stopped by Ghost Rider at the last second.
  • While he does attempt to transfer Bagra-Ghul back into Bram, it is only out of pragmatism since Wolverine as Hellverine as disobedience and defiant against his every order and thought he needed a more suitable vessel to correct his ideal killing-machine in the making and start from scratch.
  • While a servant of Mephisto, such loyalty is hollowed into anything else but mere fanaticism without any further exploration, and at best, as long as he continued with his weaponizing procedures and experiments, it is his first priority at best.
