“ | By all the devils! | „ |
~ Ezechiel angrily shouting and then glaring at William in a paper about his trial. |
“ | Am I not Pregzt, captain of the Astarte and bloodiest villain in all the seven seas? | „ |
~ Ezechiel arrogantly talking about his title. |
Ezechiel Pregzt is the main antagonist of the 1992 survival horror game Alone in the Dark, the first game of the series of the same name.
He is a pirate from Louisiana, New Orleans, who after being hanged returned as Elijah Pickford, and then sacrificed people for the Old Ones.
He was voiced by Eric Roberts, who also voiced Mongul in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited, and the Master in the Doctor Who film.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He was a pirate, who being the captain of the Astarte, was known for his horrific murders, and also sacrifices people to the Old Ones, showing his sadism on full display.
- After being hanged, he returned as Elijah Pickford, and then drove both Jeremy Hartwood and his father to insanity, with the former committing suicide. And before that, as Elijah, he attempted to possess Captain Norton until the house killed him.
- Unlike most monsters and villains (other than Alan Morton) in the series, he has no problems with agency as he was a human before being turned into something of a eldritch horror, and lacks any redeeming qualities, and manages to be heinous enough with his sadistic murders and the suicide of Jeremy Hartwood.
- While he did at one point marry Elizabeth Jarret, nothing shows he cares about her or even their son, Jedediah.
Trivia[]
- He is the only Alone in the Dark villain to be Pure Evil.
