	~ The Voice of Ethiron promising to damn the Pathfinder that released him to a fate worse than death.

Ethiron is the overarching antagonist of Verse 2 of the Roblox game Deepwoken.

He is an Eldrich entity known as a Drowned God, currently asleep in the Second Layer of The Depths. Despite being in a deep slumber, his power allowed him to maintain cognizance during this time, manipulating events behind the scenes.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?

• He unleashed a mist across the city of New Kyrsa, brainwashing its population.
• He forced the brainwashed Kyrsans to wage a war against the Celestial City of Constellia, resulting in many deaths, the rubble devastating the planet below and the kidnapping of King Kaide.
• He sought to end his slumber, despite being aware that at best it would turn the universe into a torturous state and at worse result in the deaths of all those in the universe.
• After several Black Divers ended up in New Kyrsa, he had them kept there, damaging their souls and causing their bodies and personality to erode, all for personal enjoyment.
• Using this knowledge he acquired, he created a disguise, which he named Mendacia, and attempted to trick a Pathfinder into unleashing a beast named the Scion of Ethiron, which would then wake him.
• After they unsealed the creature, he mocked them in anticipation of his awakening and stated they would be damned to a horrific fate despite helping him.
• While he is asleep, he shows a clear level of awareness and intelligence on par with any normal human, which also goes for fellow Drowned God Yun'Shul, who is extremely benevolent, conveying he has agency.
• While The Ministry is a cult that is willing to commit omnicide to achieve their aims, and have fewer resources, Ethiron actively is pursuing this goal rather than just willing to carry it out should it be required, albeit as a side effect of his actual goal, as well as standing out for his brainwashing of the Kyrsgarde, war against the Celestials and Lightborn and treatment of the Lost Divers.

• He is very similar to many incarnations of Nyarlathotep:
  • They both come from a race that are described as mindless or unfathomable, rather than malevolent, or on a higher plane of existence to the point they are incapable of understanding the rules of morality or the worth of lives. Despite this they are violent, controlling sadists who wish to bring about the end of the world for fun rather than by accident or out of necessity.
  • They shapeshift into various human-like forms to trick and manipulate others.
  • They become leaders of and eventually ruin societies.
  • They enjoy inducing madness in others.
  • They are some of the most active of their kind, spearheading attempts to dispose of their foes or bring about a catastrophy.
