NOTE: This article is about the incarnation of Emperor Kans from the Krishna Aur Kans animated film. The mythology version can be found here: Kansa.

Emperor Kans (also known as Prince/King Kans) is the main antagonist of the Hindi animated film Krishna Aur Kans. He is the ruler of Mathura and the son of Emperor Ugrasen, who ruled the Kingdom before him.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • While he was the Prince of Mathura, he devastated entire villages by either brutally killing their inhabitants or forcing others into slavery.
  • After becoming the new ruler of Mathura after his father, Emperor Ugrasen, he started commanding his armies to wreck havoc across the Kingdom and spread his influence across the entire world, going mad with power.
  • He slaughtered 6 of Devaki's children and his own nephews after a voice said that the 8th son would someday kill him.
  • On top of killing their children, he also imprisoned Devaki and Vasudev on their wedding day.
  • He ordered any sympathizers of Devaki and Vasudev to be imprisoned along with them.
  • He ordered Putna to kill every infant child.
  • He stole his father's power before locking him away along with Devaki and Vasudev.
  • When Narad advised him to ask for forgiveness from Lord Vishnu, he rejected his offer.
  • Even though he initially planned to spare Devaki's first son, he later slaughtered each one of them after he was convinced by his advisors, Chanur and Mustik, that all of them posed a threat to his life.
  • When Devaki's 8th son, Krishna, was sent to be raised in secrecy to save his life, he resorted to unleashing demons onto the Kingdom in his attempts to kill the child.
  • He finally decided to try and kill Krishna by himself when the latter had grown into a young boy by inviting him to a gladitorial match.
  • While he seems to respect the demons he summons, this respect is likelily fake and pragmatic and he only use them to kill Krishna.
