“ | I made your wish come true, Sarah. And in return, well, you certainly made my wishes come true... | „ |
~ Eleanor to Sarah as she steals her identity. |
“ | What do you wish for most? You may think you know the answer. But what will your deepest desires cost? Will you survive long enough to make your wish come true? | „ |
~ Eleanor in the Into the Pit release trailer. |
“ | He could see her, but he could see into her, too, and what he saw was a black, chaotic force that fed on human suffering. The fear, the pain, the death - she, not the Stitchwraith, was the cause of it. | „ |
~ Larson's perception of Eleanor's true form. |
Eleanor is the main antagonist of the Five Nights at Freddy's: Fazbear Frights anthology novel series, serving as the main antagonist of To Be Beautiful and the Stitchwraith Stingers.
She is a malevolent and dark creature that feeds off human agony. She is the archenemy of the Stitchwraith and Everette Larson.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- For starters, she is described to be worse than the Fazbear Frights version of William Afton, a serial child murderer who kills for nothing but pleasure, and she certainly lives up to the title.
- Across the span of three decades, she killed at least thirty people, mainly youths, be it directly or indirectly. This ultimately means she has the single highest confirmed kill count not only in Fazbear Frights, but also the entire franchise. All of her victims' souls ended up trapped inside a ball pit where they're forced to relive horrible/sad memories (including those surrounding their fates), thus putting them in a fate worse than death, all so she could feed on their agony and be powerful. These are just some of the numerous incidents she's been involved with:
- She's somehow connected to the Yellow Rabbit, a monster resembling Spring Bonnie that killed six children in the year 1985 and tried to kill Oswald and his father.
- She's somehow connected to the Funtime Freddy animatronic that killed Millie Fitzsimmons.
- She created the monstrous Plushtrap Chaser that tried to kill three kids.
- It's also stated that the Plushtrap Chaser has realistic, probably even human eyes and teeth, implying that she mutilated or even killed someone and stole those parts to add to the Chaser.
- She caused Delilah's presumed death by psychologically torturing her into trapping herself inside a vent while leading her to believe that the Ella doll she bought was torturing her.
- She preserved Pete Dinglewood's consciousness inside his corpse, forcing him to endure the agony of getting his eye and arm surgically removed for organ donation.
- She's somehow connected to the novelty glasses that caused Kasey to be stalked by a vision of Ballora and resulted in a child getting either entranced or even possessed by it.
- She almost killed Sam by pushing him onto the tracks of an oncoming train.
- She's somehow connected to Shadow Bonnie and therefore played a role in Toby Billings' death.
- For days, she surgically replaced Sarah's organs and body parts with literal trash without her knowledge. When Sarah lost the heart pendant that kept her entire body together, she died as a result and Eleanor impersonated her before running away.
- She powered Afton's new amalgamated body and helped him fight Everette Larson and Jake. When the Puppet destroyed the body, she left William to die.
- She's also implied to have kept William Afton alive after he was near-fatally burnt, and possibly battled his victim Andrew for control inside Afton's mind.
- She imprisoned a drug-addicted girl inside a box and impersonated her, claiming to be Renelle, the daughter of Remnant scientist Dr. Talbert, to gain Jake's sympathy so that he could take her to Dr. Talbert and receive a Remnant injection from him, thus giving her immortality and power. According to the FNAF Official Character Encyclopedia, she would have used this to spread chaos and suffering across the world.
- She tried to kill Jake and Detective Larson one final time, all while taunting the latter by showing him memories of her various crimes.
- While she is described as an entity of pure darkness and was all but spelled out to have been created from the agony of Afton's actions, this doesn't affect her moral agency because the following reasons:
- The latter was only implied and the former only calls her a "black" and "chaotic" creature, which is not enough to suggest that she is completely made of evil.
- She is clearly able to pretend to be benevolent, as proven by her interactions with Sarah and her disguising herself as Renelle, showing that she understands the difference between good and evil.
- She eventually gets imbued with Remnant, which is supposed to be made of positive emotions; This would mean she gained full moral agency and continued to be evil regardless.
- Most of all, it's been shown in several areas of the franchise that agony creatures aren't inherently evil. In the Novel Trilogy, Charlie was brought to life through Henry's immense grief over his daughter's death, yet turned out to be Near Pure Good. In the games, RWQFSFASXC, a character heavily implied to be an agony creature just like Eleanor, helps one of the Missing Children move on to the afterlife. Also, the Mimic, which was clearly energized by agony, is able to pretend to be good and friendly in its Tiger Rock and Helpi forms. Even in the Stitchwraith Stingers, Andrew appears to be filled with plenty of agony in comparison to other ghosts, yet has a redeeming quality in the form of caring for his fellow ghost Jake. With all of these in mind, it'd be fair to suggest that Eleanor is no different.
Trivia[]
- Some factors exist in that could possibly make Eleanor even worse:
- She is implied to be the true identity of the Yellow Rabbit, Foxy, the Blackbird, Ballora and Shadow Bonnie, which would mean that she personally committed their actions of murdering six children and subsequenting kidnapping and impersonating Oswald's father, cursing Pete and causing his death, tormenting Nole over Sam's apparent death, tormenting Toby to the point of making him commit suicide and stalking Kasey via the glasses.
- That said, it's implied Ballora is genuinely disgusted towards Kasey for her theft and wanted her to return the glasses. If this was proven true, then Eleanor would arguably have standards, but it's unknown how much this would hold up as Eleanor has done much worse, including stealing the heart pendant from Dr. Talbert, which would make her a thief by herself.
- She is implied to be the true identity of the Shadow, the main antagonist of You're the Band (which is implied to be set in the same timeline as the Stitchwraith Stingers), meaning that she stalked a child named Timmy and endangered him by leading him to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, all with the intent of obtaining the soul within Timmy's Freddy Fazbear mask, presumably so she could add it to the ball pit.
- She is implied to have been behind some of the events of the Tales from the Pizzaplex anthology series, namely killing a girl named Jessica the same way she killed Sarah, turning Lally hostile and making it kill Daniel and Selena, and being the true identity of (or at least connected to) Mr. Renner, therefore making her responsible for his actions.
- It's also implied that she took advantage of Jessica's former personality and desire, making her responsible for the mistake that ruined Jessica's life and caused her to become sheltered and outcasted.
