~ Lindgard bragging about the power he has over his victims. |
Edwin Lindgard is the main antagonist of the Law & Order: Criminal Intent episode "D.A.W.". He is a doctor and serial killer who overdoses his patients with morphine to relive the power he felt while caring for his dying mother.
He was portrayed by Kevin Tighe, who also portrayed Anthony Cooper in Lost.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- While he did take care of his mother while she had cancer, the only reason he did this was because he felt power in controlling someone's life.
- When she died and he lost his control, he decided to become a drug addict of morphine and use the drug to hook his patients on the drug before overdosing them, stealing expensive items such as their jewelry and items when they are overdosing as well. He kills at least 248 people with this method over several decades, which would make him the most prolific serial killer in human history in terms of confirmed number of victims. Furthermore, while other serial killers have estimated higher victim numbers, Edwin as well has a larger estimated higher amount, with 600 people who died under his care, with the NYPD only being able to pin 248 of them on him and the rest being unclear.
- After killing one of his elderly patients, Mrs. Pearce, he injects her daughter, Danielle with an overdose while she is in the car with him due to her investigating the theft of her mother's jewelry. He kicks her out of the car and blocks the road so that she is struck by three cars and killed.
- While he gifts jewelry to his girlfriend, he has no true care for her, only doing this to keep her with him and pressuring her into having sex with him.
- Uses his Ex-Wife as a way to get morphine for his drug use by paying her alimony, declining to pay it if she doesn’t give him morphine.
- He goes on a rant about how he “gives” his patients their deaths, incriminating himself in the process.
- While his methods are not as brutal as some of other serial killers, he easily passes the heinous standard with one of the largest kill counts in the entire franchise, only being surpassed by war criminals and crime lords such as Sergei Pearlman.
