~ Edmund preparing to kill the player. |
Edmund Lowry Jr. is a minor antagonist in the 2018 video game Red Dead Redemption II, serving as the main antagonist of the mission "American Dream", involving the pursuit and capture of a gruesome serial killer - the quest is one of several dark and strange side-stories that can be found in the game.
He was voiced by Don Stephenson.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He has murdered many people across the country, having murdered in at least three states, with one of the named victims being Eliza Bloom.
- He ties his victims' mutilated corpses to trees and rocks across the country, and leaves notes in the severed heads as clues to make people find his hideout.
- He has murdered 58 people. If we count his revolver from Red Dead Online the new count becomes 126
- Besides desecrating his victims as clues, he also dismembers them for having an extensive collection of various human remains in his basement.
- He is most likely the one behind the massacre of the Blackwater Athletics Team, as both in their grave and in his basement there is the letter "B", made by limbs of the athletes.
- When Arthur Morgan/John Marston arrives at his lair, he knocks him out and ties him down, planning on killing him. All the while, filled with sadistic glee as he attempts to intimidate him.
- If Arthur/John does not throw the severed head in time, Edmund will torture him to death with a sadistic grin on his face, as the player screams in agony.
- When Arthur/John takes him to Sheriff Malloy's office, he attempts to break out of the jail and kill Malloy by biting him, only to be killed by the player or Malloy himself.
- Despite the very high heinous standard of Red Dead Redemption and the fact that there are much worse villains, Edmund still stands out as he is incredibly low resource compared to villains like Micah Bell, Colm O'Driscoll, and Otis Skinner.
- Not to mention he has a very high body count (Around 120) and commits possibly the most brutal murders in the entire game.
- Although he keeps a letter at home revealing that he refused to marry so he could have more dinner with his mother, in the end his relationship with her is ambiguous, as it is just her expressing her concern about Lowry's recent attitude towards her, and it is never shown if Lowry really cares about her or not. Not to mention, Lowry may just have dinner with her to hide the fact that he's a serial killer from her.
