eNeMeE is the overarching antagonist of the Kirby: Right Back at Ya! anime series.
He is a malicious wizard and the founder of Nightmare Enterprises who plots to conquer the entire universe with his armada of monsters. He waged war with the Star Warriors long before the events of the series, including the likes of Meta Knight. In modern times, he is the boss of Customer Service, the former benefactor of King Dedede and the arch-nemesis of Meta Knight.
He was voiced by Andrew Rannells in the English dubbed version.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Unlike his video game counterpart, who only existed to be seen as a worse threat than Dedede, this version of Nightmare is far more evil and fleshed out.
- Despite of the lighthearted tone of the show and unlike Dedede, Escargoon and Customer Service, he has no comedic moments or redeeming qualities.
- Though King Dedede is also more evil and sadistic in this version, Nightmare dwarfs him in evil (though to be fair, King Dedede lacks the supernatural powers Nightmare has and he has shown some compassion when it was convenient for him, something that eNeMeE never does onscreen). This makes him partially responsible for all the awful things King Dedede has done.
- He caused a space war, resulting in countless deaths almost across the universe.
- He was indirectly responsible for the death of Sirica's mother, Garlude, since she sacrificed her own life to help Meta Knight defeat Kirisakin, one of his most powerful monsters, which also makes him indirectly responsible for Sirica's actions.
- He sells his chaotic monsters to unsavory buyers in a trick to cause lethal mayhem. In fact, it's not uncommon for his monsters to even betray his customers.
- Throughout the series, he sends his monsters out to kill Kirby so that he can make sure that he cannot stop him from destroying the universe.
- He never cared about his monsters and he doesn't even care that most of them died because of Kirby.
- Prior to selling them to buyers, he puts his monsters through painful and abusive training, turning them from cute and harmless to sadistic and ruthless.
- He scammed King Dedede by selling him Fofa (who is Fololo and Falala's true form), a monster that does not want to cause any harm, and then decided to have Slice 'N' Splice split Fofa in two just so he could get more money.
- He brainwashed everyone in Cappy Town into killing Kirby by selling them Noddy pillows and psychologically torturing them in their dreams. Tiff, Tuff, Meta Knight, Blade Knight, Sword Knight, and Kirby were the only ones lucky enough to break free or be immune to the pillows.
- He sent a ghost to terrorize King Dedede until he payed his bills.
- He turned Knuckle Joe's father into a monster for fun, which lead to Meta Knight being forced to kill him in battle. He also made the same approach to gaslight Knuckle Joe into serving him to have him finally destroy Meta Knight. Following settlement of conflict, both warriors mutually agree they would never forgive him for such grievous enormity against them.
- To make it even worse, such makes he and King Dedede responsible for Knuckle Joe causing mass destruction in Cappy Town and beating Kirby to near death.
- He attempted to destroy Kirby and Dream Land using both a meteor and spaceships.
- He used microscopic monsters that infected everyone in Cappy Town (Except King Dedede, Kirby, and the Waddle Dees) with head colds, just because King Dedede refused to buy a monster to make NME Salesguy employee of the month. The monsters even accidentally infected the NME Salesguy.
- Assuming he wasn't the one who released the monsters, it's implied that he gave NME Salesguy the idea to release them into Dream Land.
- He captured the Island Sisters and sold them to King Dedede, making him responsible for Mosugaba's rampage.
- He ripped a hole in the ozone layer so he could burn Dream Land to a crisp, making everyone become nocturnal.
- He tormented Kirby and tortured his friends right in front of him by having the Destroyas destroy both King Dedede's castle and Cappy Town, ultimately traumatizing the Cappies. This even caused the Cappies to breifly blame Kirby for what happened, even though he had nothing to do with it.
- He brainwashed King Dedede and Escargoon into capturing Tiff so he could lure Kirby into a trap.
- He trapped Kirby in his dreams so he could finish him once and for all. This backfired, however, since Tiff had Kirby suck up the Warp Star, which turned it into the Star Rod, which is ENeMeE's one true weakness, which ended up killing him, finally ending his reign of terror, and restoring peace to the galaxy.
- Overall, he is responsible for nearly every event that have happened in the series.
Trivia[]
- Since he is made of evil in the Japanese version (unlike in the English dub), his Japanese version doesn't qualify as Pure Evil due to being an amoral.
- Nightmare is the only Kirby villain to be Pure Evil.
