Dropkick is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Shatter) of the 2018 sci-fi action film Bumblebee. He is a Decepticon spy tasked with hunting down and killing the Autobots with his partner, Shatter.
He was voiced by Justin Theroux.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Prior to the events of the film, he joined the Decepticons because he is very bloodthirsty, relishing on inflicting pain and suffering upon others, particularly the Autobots.
- Upon finding Cliffjumper in the rings of Saturn, he and Shatter tortured him into revealing Optimus' location. After receiving a signal from Bumblebee (which was accidentally activated by Charlie Watson), Dropkick killed Cliffjumper by bisecting him vertically. While Shatter ordered him to do so, he didn't show to care.
- Once he and Shatter made planetfall on Earth, he immediately killed a human bystander named Roy just because he hates humans, even claiming that he likes "the way they pop".
- He even show to be disgusted by Shatter introducing themselves to the humans at Sector 7.
- Upon capturing Bumblebee, they tortured him until they learned that he received a message from Optimus Prime about making Earth their new refuge and protecting it from Decepticon forces. Upon seeing this, Dropkick and Shatter decided to summon their Decepticon allies to Earth, as they plan to destroy it. He then proceeds to kill Powell after he heard everything and realized how foolish he was to trust them. Since he was passing a message to Agent Burns about the mistake at the moment he got killed, Burns thought that all Cybertronians are evil, and would think as such until Bumblebee saved him. Once again, he didn't care if he was following orders.
- While Shatter was installing the signal device to bring the Decepticon armada to Earth, Dropkick tries to kill Bumblebee before getting killed instead.
- While Dropkick and Shatter were working together, nothing indicates they care for one another, so it's likely they only get along because they're sadists.
- Despite the continuity's heinous standards being quite high, Dropkick stands out for wanting to destroy the Earth with fewer resources, as he wanted to do so by burning the planet to the ground with his built-in weapons.
- Since the film is a reboot, then the other films are not canon to the continuity's timeline, so he doesn't need to compete with the other villains of the series.
Trivia[]
- Only Dropkick's incarnation in the rebooted film continuity can be considered Pure Evil, since his incarnation in the original film continuity only appeared in the tie-in novels and comics for the films, and all of them depicted him as just a regular Decepticon, making him fail the heinous standards.
- In a deleted scene for the film, Dropkick is shown to be inside the Sector 7 Base in Hoover Dam, where he was experimenting some weapons while explaining to Shatter that he hates humans so much just because they are small and organic instead of big and technological like them, showing why he hates humanity. Had this scene made to the final cut, it would've made him even worse.
- This is the only incarnation of Dropkick to be Pure Evil.
