“ Drolta: I'm a representative too, of the Messiah.
Revolutionary: Religious orders need to register with the National Convention.
Drolta: (chuckles) Not THAT Messiah. The real one.
„
~ Drolta introducing herself to members of the French Revolution before killing them.

Drolta Tzuentes is the secondary antagonist of Season 1 of Castlevania: Nocturne. She is a vampire/demon who serves as Erzebet's second-in-command and representative.

She is voiced by Elarica Johnson.

What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]

  • Even though she was a priestess of Sekhmet as a human, upon being turned into a vampire she pledged herself to Erzebet, despite knowing about her drinking her goddess's blood to gain her powers (which was effectively an act of desecration). This shows she wasn't truly devoted to Sekhmet given how she now follows a vampire who stole her goddess's power for her own ends.
  • As Erzebet's enforcer, she personally led destructive raids on villages that defied her and/or her allies, slaughtering most of the settlement's inhabitants with sadistic satisfaction.
  • During these raids, she would capture young women (usually virgins) and bring them back to Erzebet's castle, where the countess would torture them over long periods of time for her own cruel amusement. One of these women she kidnapped was Tera's sister, who was turned into a vampire by Erzebet during her captivity, causing Tera to kill her as an act of mercy before fleeing Erzebet's castle.
  • Acting as Erzebet's representative, she would recruit many vampires into the countess's cult following, including former slave master Vaublanc. She would brand these recruits with Erzebet's symbol as a show of loyalty.
  • She kills two members of the French Revolution upon arriving in Paris, smiling sadistically as she did so.
  • She killed a cowardly deputy and kidnapped his daughter to present to Erzebet upon her arrival in Paris, personally drawing blood from the girl out of sadism. This girl would be made into a glorified mistress for Erzebet and slowly drained of blood throughout her time in captivity.
  • She attempts to kill Richter, Annette, Tera, and Maria when she meets with Abbot Emmanuel. While she refrains from trying to kill Maria when Emmanuel demands she doesn't, it's only to ensure his cooperation in their alliance and still injured her arm before then. She still sarcastically asks if Annette was old enough for her to kill.
  • She doesn't show any remorse for the Marquis's death and expresses annoyance at his wife's grieving cries for his death, even cracking jokes about her husband's decapitated head with no remorse when speaking to Nikolai. She asks Nikolai to kill Richter and bring his head back for her; it was only to keep her and the aristocracy on Erzebet's side.
  • Her chastisement of Olrox for killing an aristocrat was out of pragmatism to keep the human nobility's allegiance, even admitting that she's disgusted by having to prey on commoners to keep them satisfied and looks forward to when Erzebet brings eternal night, at which point they will no longer be necessary.
  • Realizing that Maria is Emmanuel's daughter, she reveals this to Erzebet so that they can use her to ensure that Emmanuel remains loyal to her forever. This leads to Erzebet demanding that he sacrifice his daughter to her as part of a blood pact and Emmanuel nearly killing Maria to prove his loyalty, although in truth Erzebet really wanted to turn Maria into a vampire and effectively enslave her for eternity, which Drolta was fully aware of.
    • This would also make her indirectly responsible for Tera being turned into a vampire by Erzebet, as it was her outing Maria's connection to Emmanuel to Erzebet that led to the fight in the church to rescue her, which in turn leads to Tera taking Maria's place as the sacrifice to save her daughter.
  • Upon Erzebet successfully eclipsing the sun with her powers, she leads the countess's forces to invade the countryside as a prelude to Erzsebet's conquest of the world.
  • She attacks the heroes in Emmanuel's church in order to kill them and recapture Maria for Erzebet.
  • She ignores Emmanuels pleas to let the other heroes free after Erzebet turns Tera into a vampire, smugly pointing out that they were part of the Revolution that he agreed to help them destroy. She was only stopped from killing them by Alucard, who stabs her in the back with his blade, killing her.
  • While she follows Erzebet and demands other vampires (like Olrox) to bow before her, this is merely fanaticism rather than true loyalty. And given her sadistic personality, she mainly seems to follow her so she can kill whoever she likes.
  • Despite Castlevania's high heinous standard, she manages to stand out by personally leading Erzebet's forces to slaughter entire villages while also kidnapping young girls for Erzebet to torture, making her a vital and prominent participant to Erzebet's conquest and heinous actions.
  • Her death by Alucard’s hand was immensely satisfying as she deserved it for all of her heinous and sadistic actions.
