~ Dr. Pilfman explaining why he framed Elizabeth Richmann |
Dr. Pilfman is the main antagonist of The Enchanted Turnabout. He serves as the main culprit behind Rebecca Richmann's murder as well as the mastermind behind the courtroom burning of Victoria Richmann. He served as Newton Belduke's assistant and was the wife of the victim before she hid in the woods with her daughters and married another man. Driven by anger, he formulated a revenge scheme to kill her.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- When he found out his wife married another man while in the woods, he grew furious and plotted to kill her.
- He threatened to expose his two daughters Victoria Richmann and Vanessa Richmann as witches which would mean their execution by molten lava if they didn't help him murder his wife.
- He made Victoria Richmann paint green paint on Elizabeth Richmann's wall and planted the Godoor gem on the Talea Magica in order to frame her for the crime.
- When Victoria was pinned as the murderer, he made Vanessa burn her alive in front of everyone in the courtroom as they watched in horror.
- He saw his daughters as nothing more than assets for his murder plan and was willing to throw them away to save his own skin as he knew witches would never be treated with humanly respect in society, showing how little he cares of them.
- When arrested for his crimes, he shows no worries about his predicament thinking he's going to let off as the witches of the case were burned. He only showed fear when Elizabeth explained that because he used them for his own crime through abuse of the law, he himself would be considered as a possible suspect of the "Great Witch Bezella" and be burned himself.
- Despite his wife and daughters leaving their original home in order to live in the woods and her finding another husband, ultimately his daughters had nothing to do with his wife marrying another man. Furthermore, considering how quick he was to psychologically torment his daughters with the plan, it merely shows he never cared for his family anyways.
- While he worked with Newtwon Belduke, their relationship is unknown.
- Considering Rebecca Richman's murder was real and not a fabrication, it proves this iteration of the Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright timeline is one where magic is real and not a brainwashed fantasyland created by The Storyteller. Due to this, not only does it prove Dr. Pilfman's crimes aren't fabricated, but also proves he committed them of his own volition.
- While he isn't called their father by name, it's heavily implied by the conversation between him and Elizabeth while he's arrested, referring to her "not of my own blood" after she pieced together his motive for killing Rebecca.
- Despite Ace Attorney's higher standards, considering the story takes place in an alternate Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright universe, the mainline standards' do not apply to this work, thus allowing Dr. Pilfman's crimes to stand out on its own by the General Standards due to how abusive he is to his own daughters.
