You said it again! Wh-Who am I? Don’t mess with me, Bagura!
~ Dr. Mechadoc

Dr. Mechadoc is the main antagonist of Bomberman Jetters upon usurping the throne of the Hige-Hige Bandits from Bagura. Bitter from Bagura seemingly taking credit for his research from university, Mechadoc planned to take over the world using his “own science” to the point of attempting to collide two planets in attempt to obtain the bomb crystal.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • Sent Zero out to kill Mighty in order to obtain his data to build a battle robot. This act makes him personally evil to the heroes and even the villains, as they respected and cared for him a lot.
  • Schemed against the Hige-Hige Bandits behind their backs, sabotaging their missions and making Mujoe take the blame for it, to the point of him getting temporarily fired.
    • Mechadoc also created a faulty machine called the Combined Bomberman Machine, which Mujoe would use to create Bombermans to assist in dealing with the Jetters. He intentionally made them flawed, which ended up with most of them being led to their demises.
  • Is responsible for the creation of Max, who has his share of heinous crimes such as psychological abuse and attempted mass murder.
  • When there’s growing suspicion of a traitor in the Hige-Hige Bandits, Mechadoc sent Max out to break his leg and out himself as the traitor so he can throw suspicion away from himself.
  • Brainwashes Bagura’s minions under his will and caged Bagura usurping his position.
  • Attempts to take over the world using the bomb crystal to prove “his science” and get revenge for not being recognized.
  • Tortures Bagura by continuously banging on the cell bar, which created loud noises that gave Bagura pain.
  • Ordered Mighty to attempt to kill every witness to the usurpation, which critically injured Nighyly and had Max psychologically torture Misty as a result.
    • While he was hesitant on Max going after the Jetters, it was only because he was aware of their capabilities and did not want Max to get himself recklessly injured.
  • When he found out Zero was alive, he had Max try to kill him to prevent the Jetters from having a valuable ally.
  • Constantly berates Max over his failures, showing the two don't have a positive relationship and only sees Max as a materialistic gain due to his abilities.
  • When Mujoe and the Jetters tried to rescue Bagura, he sent Max out to try to kill them.
  • When Max appears to seemingly kill Mujoe, he laughs in front of a mourning Bagura and mocks his death.
  • When he finds out that the bomb crystal is actually the core of Bomber Planet, he attempts to warp the two planets into each other using the warp device Max rigged during one of Mujoe’s theft missions.
  • When Bagura asks him about the victims he’ll create from destroying two planets, Mechadoc callously tells him they’ll be his test subjects for his science, making Bagura completely disgusted with him.
  • When the warp device failed, Mechadoc proceeded to use another device which would pull the two together instead, making Bagura grow sick of his relentless plan.
  • In an attempt to prevent anyone from trying to foil his plan, he has his brainwashed bandits hold Bagura at gunpoint. He shows everyone that he’d have them shoot him if they continue to try to stop him from colliding the planets.
  • When he gets tricked by the defected, he attempts to have the traitors executed.
  • Sent the Max prototypes out to try to kill the Jetters.
  • When he finds out the planets are within each other’s atmospheres, he laughs at the predicament and tries to evacuate with Max.
  • When the Jetters are after him and Max abandons him, Mechadoc fuses himself with the destroyed prototypes to become the Dark Force Bomber which critically injured several, especially Shout.
  • His excuse of Bagura stealing credit for his university work does not excuse his crimes in the slightest. Bagura made an entirely separate theory that fixed Mechadoc’s flaws. Even then, Bagura showed no malice doing it and in the future treated Mechadoc with respect as a member of the team despite not remembering him. Even with all that considered, it's not like Bagura's actions caused him any humiliation from the public. As a result, he brought his own gripes towards everyone who never deserved his horrible actions.
  • He and Max shows no genuine care for each other. Mechadoc only respects Max for being his powerful creation and only uses him for his own benefit.
  • While Mechadoc has plenty of comedic moments, he’s always taken seriously as a villain as everyone sees him as a threat. Even after his defeat, the threat of his plans didn’t stop to the point everyone accepted death before White Bomber and Mighty’s last memories reversed the effects of his plan.

Trivia[]

  • Dr. Mechadoc and Bagura are the complete opposite when it comes to their portrayals between the games and this anime. While in the games, Bagura is an omnicidal maniac without redeeming qualities, Mechadoc is a complete goofball without any heinous crimes. In this anime, Mechadoc is a psychopathic scientist willing to kill billions for the sake of revenge as Bagura is an affable and compassionate leader only willing to steal things.
