Dr. James Kennedy is the main antagonist of Agatha Christie's 1976 murder mystery novel Sleeping Murder. He is a psychiatrist who murders his sister out of incestuous desire and begins disposing of anyone who can connect him to the crime.
In the 1989 film adaptation, he was portrayed by Frederick Treves. In the 2006 TV adaptation he was portrayed by Phil Davis.

- Drugged Helen's husband Kelvin into thinking he had killed her; when no body was found, he was thought insane and committed to a mental hospital, driving him to suicide.

- Strangled Helen's maid Lily Kimble, believing she planned to blackmail him.
- Attempted to kill Glenda when she remembered his crime, first trying to poison her, then strangling her before Jane Marple intervened.
