~ Henry revealing how he feels about him to his former right-hand man. |
Dr. Henry Miller is the posthumous overarching antagonist of the Dayshift at Freddy's trilogy.
He serves as the unseen overarching antagonist of Dayshift at Freddy's, the overarching antagonist of Dayshift at Freddy's 2: Electric Boogaloo and the main antagonist of Dayshift at Freddy's 3.
He is the former co-owner of Fredbear's Family Diner and a notorious serial killer who murdered kids at Freddy Fazbender's Pepperonerie alongside his partner-in-crime and right-hand man, Dave Miller. Obsessed with living forever, Henry sought to intertwine metal and souls, causing him to commit his murders in an attempt to bind the souls of his victims with the pizzerias' animatronic characters to abolish death entirely and cross the barrier between life and the afterlife.
Although Henry's threat ceased for the next 40 years when he was dragged into the void by Blackjack, the vacuum he left behind was filled by his faithful follower, Dave, having been responsible for his turn to villainy by manipulating him into becoming his "partner" and thus, all events that took place in the series. He is the former mentor of Dave Miller, as well as his and Jack Kennedy's arch-nemesis.
Henry uses text-to-speech in order to communicate, and is voiced by WillBadGuy from Acapela Group.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- While his official counterpart, Henry Emily, is a heroic character, this Henry is anything but that.
- While the trilogy is without a doubt full of comedy, Henry Miller completely makes the scenes darker with his very presence or even mention.
- Although he had a bad childhood until he was in his 20’s, it does not excuse his crimes in any way.
- It was confirmed that he has a high-functioning brain, thus has complete moral agency, but still chooses to do evil.
- He was happy when his father died, since he could keep the house for himself (though this is only partly what he felt about his father’s death).
- When making artillery during World War II, he sabotaged some of the weapons and refused to work to kill the men on his side for he felt that since they were killing innocent people behind enemy-lines, and that his machines were the cause of this, he could “help”.
- Although not shown (as even the creator was creeped out by it), it's implied he was an abusive boyfriend/later husband, as well as an abusive father.
- Despite Henry's disgust at William using the name of his deceased son, his relationship with his son is completely unknown and intentionally left ambiguous. Knowing Henry, it's likely that this irritation was less due to Dave using his deceased son's name and rather viewing it as an insult to his pride.
- It's implied that he burned his home and by extension his father's final resting place.
- He murdered children at his circus and later framed the lion tamer for it. It is also said that he abused the lions in his circus.
- He killed children alongside William Afton at Fredbear's Family Diner. One of them was Dee Kennedy, who was the sister of Jack Kennedy and would later possess the Puppet.
- Speaking of, he specifically designed the Puppet to trap Dee inside it after learning that she's possessing various animatronics at Fredbear's.
- He designed the springlock suits to be death traps for anyone that wore them.
- He tried to kill William by making him have a springlock failure, as well as making him take the blame for the murders.
- When he realized that William possessed his corpse just to be with him, Henry started taking organs out of William's body just to see how far William would go to be with him and how far he could push this soul.
- He hit William at one point because he said that when he closed his eyes, he saw nothing instead of darkness.
- He and William started killing children at Freddy Fazbender's Pizza and Fredbear's so Fazbender Entertainment can't buy the latter.
- He killed Steven and stuffed him into Freddy to kill him, with the man later turning into a Phone Guy. It was later revealed that his death was part of a bet between Henry and William.
- He watched Jack Kennedy, the last of the Kennedy family, have a springlock failure and did nothing to help except laugh, also blaming him for Dee's death.
- Noticeably, when mentioning the event, William himself pointed out that even for his standards, Henry was "one cruel fucker" and, in comparison to Afton's heartless and Jack's soulless, Henry was devil incarnate.
- He made Peter Kennedy, Dee's older brother, have a springlock failure because he was interrupting in trying to abduct and kill a few children at Freddy's. Later on, Steven would turn Peter into a Phone Guy.
- He was responsible for the Freddy's Blowtorch-Urinal Incident, which ended with seventeen people hospitalized and the company putting cameras in the bathrooms.
- He was partly responsible for The Bite of '83, alongside William.
- For a full 40 years, he escaped any sort of punishment because Jack's soul, BlackJack, kept him alive in the Flipside, thus avoiding death.
- In the Good/True Ending, he psychologically taunts (arguably smack-talks) the people trying to stop him into a instant-death, such as:
- Telling Steven that he died for nothing and his death was only part of a bet between Henry and William.
- Telling Peter that he meant to the world as a Phone Guy then he meant to his own family.
- Telling Dee that she couldn't save any of the kids Henry killed and that she can't escape him, just as she couldn't escape him when a little girl.
- Telling BlackJack that he watched and let Jack commit all of his crimes, that he's responsible for everything that has happened because of trapping Henry, instead of letting him die, and he's a coward.
- Telling William that he was Henry's mere toy and that he killed as many children as Henry, and that he's going to the same hell as Henry.
- Telling Jack that he's a soulless cancer with no right to exist (although this backfires and doesn't kill Jack).
- Although his death was comical, it doesn't mean anything, and he still remains as serious and evil. He also “delusionally” claimed himself to be the protagonist before dying, for he believed that all he did in the past was meant to push the story further.
- In the Bad Ending, he manipulates Jack (trapped in a Fredbear suit) into revealing to William (trapped in a Spring Bonnie suit) that he and Henry killed his little sister. He would then kill him by tearing off his head, and at the end of it all, he possesses Jack's soulless corpse. In this ending, he gets away with his crimes and is not defeated for good.
Trivia[]
- Dr. Henry Miller is the only Dayshift at Freddy's Pure Evil.
- He's also the only version of Henry Emily to be Pure Evil.
- In a further twist of Irony, he barely resembles Henry at all, being closer to his fellow Pure Evil, William Afton.
- Furthermore, one of the two Pure Goods of Dayshift at Freddy's is the games' own William Afton.
