~ Dr. Alexander Isaacs revealing himself to Alice before mentioning his clones, and how she herself is a clone of his perceived rival Alicia Marcus. |
Dr. Alexander Roland Isaacs is the main antagonist of the original Resident Evil film series by Paul W. S. Anderson, serving as the unseen overarching antagonist of the first five films and the main antagonist of it's concluding instalment Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.
He was the co-founder and supreme leader of the Umbrella Corporation, as well as being the true mastermind behind the T-Virus apocalypse. Moreover, he was the ultimate arch-nemesis of the series' protagonist Alice.
He was portrayed by Iain Glen.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He orders Albert Wesker to kill his friend/business partner James Marcus via suffocation for trying to rightfully shut down Umbrella Corporation after learning about the T-Virus' dangerous effects.
- While he did raise Alicia Marcus under his care, this gets subverted once she learns about his true intentions with the T-Virus.
- He decided that the only way to save humankind from extinction is by re-creating the world in his image. He does so by creating two clones of himself and putting Wesker in control of Umbrella while he was in cryostasis alongside Alicia and several other VIP members. Once the T-Virus is released by Parks, most life (human and animal alike) was infected and turned into undead or the other monsters which, all of them are hungry for the flesh and would kill any survivors.
- More than that, the virus dehydrated Earth by drying up water parts and turning forests into deserts. Most likely do more damage to earth biosphere than the worst case senario Global Warming. He basically cause the 6 big mass extinction, worse than other extinctions humanity cause before.
- Only when all other humans outside Umbrella is dead or become undead, he will release Anti T-Virus to killed all mutated organism and rebuild the world in his immage.
- Despite claiming to be deeply devout in God, he goes so far as to use the Bible and religious orations as excuses for his God Complex.
- Upon being awakened by the Red Queen, Isaacs escaped with the anti-virus when the Red Queen turned on him by crippling Wesker.
- During his fight with Alice in the laser grid corridor, Isaacs grabbed Alice's arm and sliced off her left hand's fingers with the lasers.
- Upon being revived by the life support system, he grabbed the anti-virus that was about to be released as it was dropped by Alice while pointing a gun at her, and would've succeeded in killing her had his second clone didn't show up and stabbed him with a knife out of disbelief, causing his life support system to fail and ending his life once and for all.
- Overall, he is the catalyst for the events of the film series since he is the one who caused all the bad things of said series to happen in the first place. This is made even worse by the fact that he has no remorse, sympathy or honor and is willing to use other as pawns for his schemes or to get whatever he wants.
Trivia[]
- Only the real Dr. Alexander Isaacs can be considered Pure Evil, since his first clone, Sam Isaacs, developed moral agency issues upon mutating into a Tyrant-like monster, and his second clone, Alexander Isaacs, is insane to the point of considering itself the real Dr. Isaacs.
- He is easily the most heinous Resident Evil villain in all timelines. Being the only one successfully destroy the world with virus. Not even games version of Albert Wesker and Carla Radames come close to this goal.
- Dr. Alexander Isaacs is, alongside Spence Parks, one of two villains from the Resident Evil live-action film series to be Pure Evil.
- He also serves as the movie counterpart of Oswell E. Spencer, who used to be considered pure evil before he was given some redeeming qualities during Resident Evil: Village.
