~ Norquist to Aubrey Fleming and his last words. |
Douglas Norquist is the main antagonist of the 2007 psychological thriller film I Know Who Killed Me. He is the piano teacher of Aubrey Fleming, who turns out to be a sadistic serial killer who kidnaps, tortures, and murders young women. His motive revolves around a twisted desire for control and dominance. In particular, he targets Audrey, one of the protagonists, after she decides to quit playing the piano.
Norquist's belief that Audrey was "made to play piano" and his frustration over her decision lead him to commit heinous acts of violence, including torturing her with dry ice, severing her fingers, and inflicting other unspeakable cruelties. His sadistic actions are not only a means of asserting dominance but also reflect a warped sense of punishment for those who deviate from his expectations.
He was portrayed by Thomas Tofel as Douglas himself and Theo Kypri as The Blue Man.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He tortures and murders his former student, Jennifer Tolland, following her decision to quit playing piano.
- He kidnapped and tortured Aubrey Fleming by strapping her to a gurney, drugging her, putting dry ice on her hand and cutting off her fingers with glass after she quit playing piano.
- Because of her stigmatic link, her twin Dakota was also affected and found mutilated in a field. Then, after undergoing surgery to have her arm and leg amputated, she had to use prosthetic limbs. In addition to leaving her friends and family in shock and dismay, Aubrey's abduction misleads the public and them by making it seem like her twin, Dakota Moss, suffers from PTSD rather than being a victim of his cruel deeds.
- He continues to torture Aubrey for days by puncturing Aubrey's arm with a glass knife, slicing and severing her finger, and cutting open her leg. Because the two sisters share a stigmatic link, this causes Aubrey's wounds to echo Dakota's, exposing them both to the pain and suffering caused by him.
- Dakota woke up with a bloodied leg and a severed finger from pole dancing, forcing her to sew her finger back onto her hand in agony.
- He brings Aubrey to the woods, knocks her unconscious, and buries her alive in a glass coffin, causing Dakota and Aubrey to suffocate from asphyxiation, almost resulting in their deaths.
- After catching Aubrey's father Daniel Fleming sneaking into his home when Daniel and Dakota learned the truth about him, he kills Daniel and keeps his body hidden in his basement.
- He knocks Dakota unconscious and restrains her to a chair after she severs his hand and wanders into his basement
- He wanted to repeat the same torture on Dakota thinking she is Aubrey,
- Before his death, he fought Dakota after trying to stab her with a glass knife.
