Dougier is a minor antagonist in Genshin Impact, serving as the main antagonist for Wriothesley's Story Quest, "Reborn in the Land of Grievances".
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He forced many people within the fortress of Meropide to join the Beret Society, which he had full control of.
- He heavily abused those he forced to join mentally, physically, and emotionally using a liquified fear substance called Aqua Doloris.
- He established overly-strict rules that made it where members of the society couldn't even trust one another, with those rules forbidding any interactions with other members, punishing a group of five for the actions of one, and only rewarding members who sell out other members.
- His punishments are beyond cruel, as not only does he use his aforementioned liquified fear, but he also starves his members to death.
- It's made clear that he takes sadistic pleasure in abusing his members.
- He steals some Gardemeks from the fortress with intent on taking it over.
- He attempts to force Avice to punish Fasoille by lethally injecting him with Aqua Doloris.
- He boasts that everybody in the Fortress of Meropide, himself included, is pure evil and beyond redemption, making it clear that he not only has low expectations for those in the fortress, but also that he has no desire to reform himself.
- When his attempts to shoot Wriothesley fail, he aims his gun at the Traveler.
- He attempts to use the rules of the fortress against Wriothesley in order to avoid punishment, which shows how much of a hypocrite he is, as they are the same rules he had been breaking himself.
- He is so detestable that Wriothesly briefly considers killing him for his actions.
- While he ultimatetly doesn't he gets a very fitting punishment: nothing at all, slowly turning him paranoid with fear as he expect a punishment, which will never come, it is still treated as karmic as he has to live as one of the most hated inmates in the Fortress.
Trivia[]
- Dougier is the first Genshin Impact pure evil to come from a character's story quest, whereas previous pure evils have either come from Archon Quests or World Quests.
