Dominique Baldwin is the main antagonist of the indie Metroidvania Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night and the deuteragonist in Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2.
Dominique is an exorcist sent by the church in order to help Miriam in her journey to defeat Gebel and stop the demon invasion. She initially acts as one of the supporting characters by selling supplies to, and buying demonic crystals from, the protagonist. However, as time went on, it's revealed that Dominique is the main antagonist of the game, with an agenda of her own. This is a page regarding her role in Ritual of the night, as in Curse of the moon, she’s a heroine with morally good intentions.
She was voiced by Kaori Mizuhashi in Japanese and Fryda Wolff in English.
What Makes Her Pure Evil?[]
- Most of the time where she acts nice to Miriam, is because she wants to corrupt Miriam and make her the new lord of Gebel's castle while Gremory can use her power to summon the Demon King Bael.
- She manipulates Zangetsu to do her bidding and uses him to kill the atoning Alchemist, Alfred, so that he won't intervene with her plans.
- Although she had a Freudian Excuse which she lost her parents during the demon invasion, and renounced her faith to the god that she worships, it doesn't justify her actions, as she reveals her Social Darwinistic philosophy and doesn't care if people were sacrificed so that she can get more power.
- While she had a kind moment with a 12-year-old girl named Ann and having a cute scene with Miriam and a photograph sub plot, it's just a Bait the Dog technique to cover up the fact that she wants to destroy the humanity.

- Dominique's Pure Evil and villain status overall was exclusive to Ritual of the Night. In Curse of the Moon 2, she was a heroic protagonist.
- Furthermore, Ritual of the Night has an upcoming content update which stars Dominique that can potentially affect her Pure Evil status.
