This world's Johnny Joestar is my greatest test. And I will overcome that test and kill him without fail.
~ Diego readying himself to fight Johnny Joestar

The parallel world Diego Brando is a minor antagonist of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure VII: Steel Ball Run.

He is an alternate counterpart of Diego Brando from another universe and a stand user summoned by Funny Valentine before his death, giving him the order to gain all the Saint Corpse Parts and to kill Johnny Joestar.

In the video games JoJo's Bizarre Adventures: Eyes of Heaven, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventures: All Star Battle R, he was voiced by Takehito Koyasu, who also voiced his original counterpart and his original universe counterpart in both the same games and the anime.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • While the original Diego had a genuine tragedy and was motivated by the desire for revenge against those who had wronged him, there is nothing to suggest alternate Diego shares this tragic backstory. Given the fact that he acts in a much more unsympathetic way and even has a completely different stand to original Diego, it's safe to assume alternate Diego does not share this redeeming quality.
  • Although nowhere near innocent, Valentine was a well-intentioned extremist who wanted to achieve what was best for his country using the Saint's Corpse. However, alternate Diego wanted to obtain the corpse purely out of self-interest and the desire to guarantee his good luck for decades at the expense of everyone else.
  • When confronting Johnny Joestar, he attempted to murder Johnny in the most brutal ways possible, including incinerating him with oil.
  • Used at least ten fangirls of original Diego as human shields against Johnny's attacks, making Johnny kill at least three and endangering several others. He then hypocritically blames Johnny for murdering the girls.
  • Incapacitated Johnny by using Tusk Act 4's own attacks against Johnny, crippling him to a state where he was unable to get up from his horse due to Tusk's infinite rotation, just so he could win the Steel Ball Run.
  • Attempted to steal the Saint's Corpse for himself, giving himself infinite luck for decades at the cost of everyone else's suffering.
  • When confronted by Lucy Steel, he threatened to torture and rape her.
  • Overall, alternate Diego is a completely unsympathetic villain who lacks the redeeming qualities of original Diego and is motivated purely by his own selfish desires. Thus showing that while he's far more evil than his original counterpart, he's just as evil as the original universe counterpart of his original counterpart, DIO.
  • Although three kill count seems very low in the JoJo series, the new universe has a much lower heinous standard, meaning he doesn't need to compare with the likes of Gray Fly and Cioccolata, and his crime is already among the worst of the new universe.
