~ Quinn to Aiden Pearce |
Dermot "Lucky" Quinn is the secondary antagonist of the 2014 video game Watch Dogs, the first installment of Watch Dogs franchise.
He is the leader of the Chicago South Club and the one who ordered the hit on Aiden Pearce and Damien Brenks during the game's prologue, which resulted in the death of Pearce's six-year-old niece Lena and the events of the game. He made a deal with Blume agreeing to co-finance CtOS in exchange for backdoor access to the entire city.
He was voiced by Myron Natwick.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- At a young age, Quinn became a local thug in the local mafia in Chicago and was involved in a shootout with the Chicago Outfit, led by Al Capone.
- Made the crime syndicate under the name of " Chicago South Club" vastly more powerful under his reign.
- Throughout the game, he orders countless people to be killed by his henchmen, as seen when a majority of the murders you can stop from happening were under Quinn's orders.
- Made a deal with Blume Corporation and financed the ctOS in exchange for access to the network, giving Quinn even more power.
- Recorded a video of Mayor Donovan Rushmore murdering Rose Washington, a former employee of Blume, which he used as a blackmail to control the mayor, and also arranged his re-election.
- Runs the club Infinite 92 to manage his sex slave auctions.
- When Aiden Pearce and Damien Brenks hacked into the Merlaut Hotel to siphon the customers' bank accounts, Quinn believed that they were looking for Rushmore's blackmail footage. He then hired Clara Lille to identify the duo and Iraq (who hired Maurice Vega) to carry out the hit. Lena Pearce, Aiden's six-year-old niece, died in the attack. Although her death was unintentional; Quinn showed no remorse for it.
- After Maurice failed to kill Aiden and begged him not to kill his girlfriend Abbie but him instead, Quinn said that he was going to be "generous" and sold Abbie to one of his auctions, mentally breaking Maurice.
- In "Backseat Driver", he kills his henchman Neil Corrado by stabbing his throat after he killed his partner and got what he wanted.
- When Aiden tells him that he had his niece killed, Quinn believes it was a "little problem" before leaving Aiden to be killed by his men.
- While he seems to be nice towards the people in the auction, the audio logs reveal that he's only doing this to keep his reputation intact and continue business without any problems.
- It's also revealed in his audio logs that he actually respected Clara when she was working with him. However, after she got into spending more time in personal business, Quinn fired her and hired Defalt in her place. It's also revealed in his final mission that he texted one of his henchmen to have Clara assassinated, proving all the respect he had for her is gone.
- When he hid himself in his bullet-prove glass room, Quinn tells Aiden to leave the Merlaut and live his life, though it was most likely planning on having him killed after he left, and when he deactivated his pacemaker, he tells Aiden that he and his family were nothing, that nobody cared for him and that he wouldn't beg, showing that he is heartless and doesn't care about anyone.
- While he says that he came from a poor family and his sister died when he was young, it doesn't justify any of his actions as he doesn't seem much affected by it in the present and became a powerful crime lord in later life for his own desires, rather than revenge. Not only that, but this backstory is also only mentioned in an interview and never said by Quinn again with no evidence of this being true.
- Despite Mary Kelly From Legion being horrible to her slaves Quinn stands out having more slaves than her and his human trafficking operation lasting for decades and has less resources than her.
Trivia[]
- Along with Mary Kelley, he is one of the two Watch Dogs villains to be Pure Evil.
