The Demon King is the main antagonist of the 2018 indie action-platforming game The Messenger, developed by Sabotage Studio. He is the leader of a demon army, and goes on a genocidal conquest towards humans every 500 years. He started his crusade after leaving the Underworld with his demon army.
What makes him Pure Evil?[]
- With his demon army, killed the Sky Giants who watched over and protected humanity.
- Attacked the Forlorn Temple, causing many people to flee and killing many people, including Phantom's love Muse.
- Cursed Muse's music box, brainwashing Phantom and sealing him inside. This created a tether from the demon realm to the human realm.
- Forced Phantom to play the organ endlessly, allowing the demons to return every 500 years to attempt genocide against all of humanity.
- Destroys Ninja Village at least twice, 500 years apart.
- Killed Ninja's successor as the Messenger, Soldier.
- Brainwashed numerous monsters to fight against Ninja.
- When he was defeated by Ninja, he taunted him that the curse would continue and humans would go extinct.
- In the Corrupted Future, where demons succeed in killing all humans, the world is made of black flesh with eyeballs and tentacles sticking out from it, the moon has been shattered into pieces, and no one but demons and the Abomination, a giant horrifying creature, are present.
- While The Messenger has many comedic moments and dialogue, the Demon King, his actions, and their consequences are all taken completely seriously.
- Has no redeeming qualities or care for his allies.
