“ | Fire. It is a reflection of our own mortality. We are born, we breathe and then we die. Even the sun will die someday. But we are divine. We are the gods trapped in cocoons. | „ |
~ Armitage revealing his true colors |
Dean Armitage is the secondary antagonist of the 2017 horror film Get Out. He is a member of the Order of Coagula, an ancient cult that attempts to achieve immortality by transplanting their brains into the bodies of Black people.
He was portrayed by Bradley Whitford.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- He belongs to a cult that kidnaps and performs forced brain surgery on Black people in order to attain immortality.
- He adopts a hypocritical public persona of racial tolerance, even feigning shame over being a white person who employs Black people as servants.
- He employs his daughter Rose to seduce and befriend Black people and bring them home as test subjects.
- He then forcibly implants his parents' brains into two of them after they die.
- He transplants Logan King's brain into Andre's body.
- He is grooming Jeremy to take over leadership of the cult.
- He employs his wife Missy to hypnotize Black people so he can perform surgery on them without their consent.
- He pretends to welcome Rose's new boyfriend Chris Washington into the family, while secretly planning to transplant his brain into Jim Hudson's body.
- While appearing friendly to Chris, he makes several subtly condescending and offensive remarks in front of him and behind his back.
- He auctions Chris off to the highest bidder in the cult, as if he were a slave.
- He and Missy render him unconscious when he tries to escape.
Trivia[]
- While one could argue he cared for his father, Roman, as he was looking at a picture of him with admiration in front of Chris, it's largely speculated to be an act in order to manipulate Chris into thinking he's a caring person, or more than likely he only admires Roman because they share the same racist views.
