“ | While TLT had its potential barrier in place they were developing an antibody to prevent Beasts from appearing. For that cause, they controlled how you fought the beasts. They were regulating it. It's very similar to what I did. I predicted that Nagi would receive Ultraman's light. Creating Faust and Mephisto and having you fight them was all done to strengthen the power of the light. I used Riko Saida and Shinya Mizorogi. Nagi to plant the darkness in your heart. | „ |

Dark Zagi is a clone of Ultraman Noa and the main antagonist of Ultraman Nexus. In the series, he made his puppets like Mizorogi, Riko, and Misawa and turned them into Dark Ultra. He was able to heal the Space Beast wounds made by Nexus, as well as revive the dead Space Beasts, and create a Dark Field for Space Beasts without having to appear himself. Dark Zagi needs Noa or Nexus, his current form, to break the seal in order to fully awaken. His form is similar to Noa but without wings and he is predominantly black and red. He was originally a biological weapon created by the Visitors to engage combat with the Space Beasts, however he went berserk and rebelled against his creators.
After his intense battle with Noa on Land of Light and losing his physical form, he went to Earth and possessed a scientist named Hajime Yamaoka and immediately killed Nagi's parents who were fellow scientists at the time to instill her fear and hatred towards him and begin his first plan to regain his original form. He later crafted the alias of Mitsuhiko Ishibori and joined NR-Japan because Lethe was stored there.
He was portrayed and voiced by Kato Kosei.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- Slaughtered his creators the Visitors, and compels them to destroy their planet.
- Causing chaos on Planet Ultra/Land of Light and holding Zoffy hostage.
- Summoned numerous monsters to kill the Space Garrison and threatened all of the Ultra Brothers.
- Upon arriving on Earth, he sadistically possessed a scientist named Hajime Yamaoka by purging his consciousness slowly and painfully.
- Murdered all of TLT's researchers in Colorado, including Nagi's parents in front of her and he psychologically abused her by instilling hatred and fear in her which caused her to have a great trauma towards Space Beasts and any beings that resemble to them.
- Created the Space Beasts to kill and eat innocent civilians that cause most of surviving civilians who encounter them going panic and suffered PTSD after seeing their friends/family/close people get eaten by Space Beasts.
- Creating Dark Ultras and turning the candidate of Deunamist into one of them and later betrayed them after they were no longer of use to him.
- After he was left without his pawns (Dark Faust and Dark Mephisto) during Ren Senjyu's arc, he helped his latest Space Beasts to battle Ren/Nexus by trapping him onto Dark Field-G to weaken him which caused his genetic defect worsen and resulting him dying.
- Turning Misawa into the second Mephisto to kill Mizorogi and replace his duty. He only used Misawa as a tool for his own plan as he was seen smiling while deleting Misawa's data alongside other candidate of Deunamists data in the end of episode 32 which implied that he lacked any redeeming qualities and emphatic feeling.
- Summoned MegaFlash, Galberos 3, and Izmael to cause chaos in an urban area so that ordinary civilians could know the truth of Ultraman and Space Beast's existence which caused the Potential Barrier to slowly weaken.
- Shot Hayato Kaimoto and stalked his computer to manipulate his identity.
- Shot and injure his loyal partner Shiori Hiraki before he reveals his true identity to all his comrades.
- Upon reaching Lethe, he told Nagi that he was the one who murdered her parents 18 years before the series started. He murdered her parents without any remorse or regret as he smirked when Nagi get angry at him which implied that he simply enjoyed mentally torturing her.
- Tortured Nagi in her Nexus form by absorbing her power using Lethe which caused her to faint and nearly killed if it was not for Komon saving her.
- After he transformed back into his true form, he sent all Space Beasts to invade the world and he began causing destruction in Shinjuku.
- His Freudian Excuse was that he was upset and angry at his creators for creating him just to "play god", even believing Noa (Nexus) did the same. However, he hypocritically did the same as well when the latter hunger for destruction and chaos. Making his excuse unjustified.
- While some may argue that when he is in his physical body after possessing humans, he lacks moral agency due to his berserk nature. However, this wasn't the case, because when being himself as Dark Zagi during his creation, he chose to destroy his creators regardless of his blind wrath and whenever Noa is brought up, it serves as a trigger of enraging him further but he can still think clearly.
Trivia[]
- It is unknown if the real Dark Zagi appeared in Ultraman Ginga. Given that it came from the Ultraman Nexus Spark Doll corrupted by Dark Lugiel's powers, it is possible this Zagi is a alternate counterpart.

- Dark Zagi, alongside Beast the One, are the only two Ultra N Project villains to be Pure Evils.
