~ Dark Lugiel expressing his goal in the series finale of Ultraman Ginga |
Dark Lugiel is the main antagonist of Ultraman Ginga and Ultraman Ginga S.
He is the culprit behind the Dark Spark War upon turning every last Ultraman, Kaiju, and Seijin to be converted into Spark Dolls and is the one behind the events of the series.
He was voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, who also played Ultraman Ginga in the character title series with the same name.
What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]
- His overall goal was to freeze and stop all time and motion to all living beings and life itself just to prevent "conflict and mistakes". While seemingly well-intentioned, his actions caused more harm than good and it doesn't help that he despised humanity and happiness simply for being pointless.
- During the Dark Spark War, Lugiel converted all of the Ultraman, Kaijus, and Seijins into Spark Dolls while he staged them to fight against one another. He would then keep a massive collection of all the Kaiju and Seijin turned into Spark Dolls for any use of them when he feels like it.
- It should be noted that what he does to them is a fate worse than death as they are immobile and stripped away of their free will with the exception of them being aware of their surroundings with Ultraman Taro (despite being sapient) being an example.
- He tried to kill Ultraman Ginga, his other half, during the aftermath of the Dark Spark War.
- Possessed Kyoko Shirai painfully and used her body at oftentimes when needed, like at one point, he smashed the Furoboshi Private Elementary School's anthem board simply out of spite to psychologically torment her.
- He revived Alien Valky to corrupt all of the Furoboshi Elementary alumni students to use their negative emotions to fuel his revival, then later Alien Nackle Gray as well. This would make him indirectly responsible for the grown students and several people becoming Kaiju and Seijin alike upon causing previous attacks, let alone psychologically tormenting Hikaru and his allies where he and Kenta got into a fight and Gray psychologically messing with Misuzu's feelings.
- He revived Alien Icarus to retrieve all the Spark Dolls required, including himself, to form Tyrant to attack Hikaru and the rest. When Icarus tries to expose his identity upon defeat, he reverted him back into a Spark Doll just to save his skin and further hide his presence at that time.
- He tried to kill Homaru Raido when he was trying to expel him out of spite against Kyoko.
- Forced Kyoko to put her own students into a deep slumber just to absorb their negative energy to start his revival and when he did, his first act was to destroy the school out of spite while painfully controlling Kyoko.
- Beats Ultraman Ginga to a pulp while putting his friends into a deep slumbering state to fuel his energy.
- Reverts Ultraman Taro back into a Spark Doll in order to ensure no one will stop him once more.
- Upon being revived as Vict Lugiel, he would start causing mass destruction in the city and caused a unknown counting of deaths, potentially by hundreds, if not, thousands if so. While he was unaware for most of the time due to his Kaiju-like state and being controlled by Exceller, he was revealed to regain sapience via becoming a hologram.
- He turned Exceller into a Spark Doll despite reviving him, although for his own selfish reasons, and showing no gratitude over it. Granted, Exceller was a horrible boss and a power-hungry alien, so this was played deservingly.
- He petrified Ultraman Ginga and Victory into statues just to prevent them from stopping him on resuming his plans to create an "eternal silence" amongst humanity by turning them in Spark Dolls.
- Upon being revived by Ultra Dark-Killer, he would assist him in his plans on creating Dark Ultra clones and tries to get revenge on Ginga.
- Despite being part of an unknown entity where he bares its darkness while Ginga bares its light, Lugiel has proven to maintain Moral Agency since nothing suggests that he's made of evil and he even stated that the darkness or any negative emotion he absorbs only fuels his powers and he doesn't even need it at all.
- Although he ended up crossing over to the primary universe where he has to compete against Alien Empera, Ultraman Belial, Bogar, Commander Black, and the Robot Chief, Lugiel would still stand out for how unique his crimes of turning living beings into Spark Dolls proven to be a fate worse than death scenario, something no villain from that universe has done so far. He also doesn't have the resources to do what Empera does in terms of him trying to commit actual omnicide based on the latter's abilities, making Lugiel the Quality over Empera's Quantity.
Trivia[]
- He was the very first Pure Evil in the Neo-Heisei era of the Ultraman franchise.
- His Eteldummy clone couldn't count as Pure Evil due to being created by Etelgar to defeat Ultraman Ginga and Victory.
