You got a real death wish.
~ D
Ever... had dreams? Dreams of dying, of being slaughtered. Ah. Most people forget as soon as they wake, no harm done. But tell you what. They're all completely true. [...] Dreams you see, they're little traces of intense memories from your past lives, that didn't get purged before rebirth. Little harmless bugs in the system, let's call 'em. However, not so with Moebius. Just like the runt said, when you become Moebius, in that very moment, all your past memories come rushing back to you! To put it mildly, its... it's trascendent.
~ D reminiscing about his time when he was known as Blackblaze Dirk.

Consul D, previously known as Blackblaze Dirk is a major antagonist of the videogame Xenoblade Chronicles 3. He's a bloodthirsty member of Moebius, who acts as a reoccurring opponent against Ouroboros alongside Consul J. He's Eunie's archenemy.

He was voiced by Yoji Ueda in Japanese and Johnathan Slinger in English.

What Makes Him Pure Evil?[]

  • Unlike the majority of Consuls, he was already an unrepentant serial killer before becoming one, who was infamously known as "Blackblaze Dirk", where he would collect the heads of the people he would kill, regardless of if they were on his side or not.
    • His most infamous act would be one day when he returned to his base after a battle and decided to kill everyone living on it.
  • Accepting the deal with Z, he would become a Consul, where he would be in charge of keeping the Forever War of Keves and Agnus going.
  • When his appointed Colony, Colony 18, would reach the Gold rank, he would personally massacre it because of the Consul's rule of removing any Gold rank colony.
    • His last victim of the ordeal would've been a previous incarnation of Eunie, where he would put one of his claws into her eye before killing her, leaving a traumatic experience on the current Eunie whenever she would vaguely remember her previous life. This is something D sadistically taunts Eunie about once he recognizes her.
  • Interlinked with J, he would ambush the Lost Number's search for the Ouroboros stone, where he would try to kill everyone, including Noah's and Mio's group.
  • Managed to kill the leader of the Lost Number's group, Guernica Vandham.
  • Once the group of Noah and Mio defeat him, he would warn the whole world of Aionios about them, basically pitting the world against them.
  • When Ourobouros would try to stop the Annihalator from firing on Colony 4, he would join J once again to try and stop them.
    • In the battle he would constantly dismember the party's Ourobourous forms and would push Eunie's traumas intentionally to relish in their pain and try to make them slip up.
  • In the Cloudkeep, when Ouroboros was trying to wake up the true Queen of Agnus, he would almost manage to kill the queen, barely missing the heart.
  • When the group was managing to convince J, a revived version of their childhood friend, to stop their ways and join them, he would forcefully interlink with him and would try to kill the party one final time, all the while insulting and belittling J as a "deadweight loser."
  • Despite abusing and belittling him earlier, D cowardly begs J to cut off the interlink when he gives him too much power, this eventually leads to J’s noble sacrifice, killing D in the process. Even as he’s dying, D only worries about not being able to continue his carnage, completely unrepentant for his actions.
  • While almost every Consul was convinced into evil by watching their previous lives and traumatized by them, D would relish on his memories because that meant he would experience him killing people once more.
  • Unlike his partner J, who is played for sympathy due to his previous lives being a nobody who never achieved anything and wanted to feel special by becoming a Consul, eventually redeeming himself in his death, D would not have any of these qualities and is portrayed as always being a monster, even in his previous lives before becoming a Moebius.
  • Although his young looks would suggest that he was not in it for as long as other Consuls, he manages to stand out due to his unrepentant blood-thirst, and going out of his way to kill more people than he should just for his enjoyment. He also boasts how as a Consul he’ll get to do his horrid crimes forever and ever, burying the world in his ‘sweet collectibles’.

Trivia[]

  • Alongside F, he's one of the current two Pure Evils of Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
    • Both of them are Consuls.
  • He's shown to be an expy of Mumkhar, both wielding Metal Claws as their choice of weapon, both being serial killers of the highest caliber, and both are shown to be "revived" into new forms.
